Flint Hopkins finds the perfect tenant to rent the space above his Minneapolis-based law office.
All the T’s are crossed and I’s dotted on Ellen’s application. Her references are good. And she’s easy on the eyes.
Until …
Flint discovers Ellen Rodgers, Board-Certified Music Therapist, plays music. Bongos, guitars, singing—not Beethoven administered through noise-cancelling headphones.
The cut-throat attorney serves up an eviction notice to the bubbly, constantly-humming redhead who's too sexy for her own good. But luck is on Ellen’s side when Flint’s autistic son, Harrison, takes an instant liking to her. A single dad can’t compete with guitars—and rats. Yes, she has pet rats.
This woman …
She’s annoyingly happy with a constant need to touch him—adjust his tie, button his shirt, invade his space, and mess with his mind.
Still …
She must go.
Their lust-hate relationship escalates into something beautiful and tragic. This sexy, romantic-comedy explores the things we want, the things we need, and the impossible decisions parents and children make to survive.

BLOG TOUR & 4 STAR REVIEW - BEHIND THE BARS BY BRITTAINY C CHERRY

BCC BLOG TOUR

Behind the Bars, the first beautiful and emotional standalone in the all-new Music Street Series from Brittainy C. Cherry is available NOW!

Behind the Bars Wrap
When I first met Jasmine Greene, she came in as raindrops.

I was the awkward musician, and she was the high school queen.
The only things we had in common were our music and our loneliness.

Something in her eyes told me her smile wasn’t always the truth.
Something in her voice gave me a hope I always wished to find.

And in a flash, she was gone.

Years later, she was standing in front of me on a street in New Orleans.
She was different, but so was I. Life made us colder. Harder. Isolated.

Caged.

Even though we were different, the broken pieces of me recognized the sadness in her.
Now she was back, and I wouldn’t make the mistake of letting her go again.
When I first met Jasmine Greene, she came in as raindrops.
When we met again, she was the darkest storm.

Excerpt:

By the way, what happened to Todd’s nose?” I asked. “I broke it,” Elliott said matter-of-factly. “What? How? Why?” He shrugged before turning to look out the window. “He called you a bad name.” “What was it?” “It doesn’t matter.” “Eli,” I started. He turned my way and locked his hazel eyes with my browns. “Jazz…” He shook his head. “It wasn’t true.” I swallowed hard, a big part of me certain Todd’s words held some form of truth. Elliott saw it in me—my fear. He kept shaking his head and whispered, “I don’t feel sorry for you. Sometimes you look at me like you think I feel sorry for you, and I want you to know I don’t. I think you’re perfect the way you are.” I quietly laughed at him repeating the words I’d told him earlier. A few tears rolled down my cheeks. “I’m a little messed up.” “I know.” He nodded. “That’s why I like you.” He went back to staring out the window, and I kept staring at him. And there it was. So small, so tiny, so real. Love. It wasn’t love, but it was the beginning of it. I knew I was young, and I knew it was stupid, but in that moment, I began to fall in love with the quiet boy who quietly cared for me. The boy who was scared and still strong. The boy who stood up for me when he was surrounded by reasons not to do such a thing. I hadn’t known much about love. I hadn’t known how it looked, felt, or tasted. I hadn’t known how it moved, how it flowed, but I knew my heart was tight and currently skipping a few beats. I understood the goose bumps covering my arms. I knew this stuttering boy who was sometimes so scared was someone worth loving. He was worth being the first one I gave my heart to. I knew Elliott Adams was love. And I was falling into him so fast. BCC_AVAILABLENOW

REVIEW

4 STARS

Behind the Bars is definitely Brittainy Cherry at her “rip your heart” out best. The story begins with Elliott and Jasmine as teens. Elliott is the bullied kid and Jasmine is the popular girl. They are both struggling with their own pain and find joy in each other. Jasmine is basically tortured by her mother to become a famous pop star and at every turn she is threatening to remove her from school. She just wants to be normal and have a mother who is proud of her. Elliott is a scrawny kid that is constantly bullied but he refuses to back down when it comes to protecting his mother and sister. Just as Eli and Jazz are growing closer tragedy strikes and Eli is changed forever. At the same time Jazz is forced to leave to become her mother’s meal ticket.

The first half if this story was really good and I sobbed when tragedy struck. I felt when Jazz and Eli reunited the pacing picked up too fast. It went from Eli being angry at the world and Jazz trying to get through to him to sappy sweet towards the last 20%. That being said I still really enjoyed this read and it definitely pulled at my heart strings. I definitely enjoyed the epilogue. I love getting a glimpse of the future for the couple in the end. If you are a fan of this author, you are going to love Behind the Bars.

Man Hands by Sarina Bowen and Tanya Eby

***OUT NOW***

He puts the "screw" in screwball comedy...

BRYNN

At thirty-four, I’m reeling from a divorce. I don’t want to party or try to move on. I just want to stay home and post a new recipe on my blog: Brynn’s Dips and Balls.

But my friends aren’t having it. Get out there again, they say. It will be fun, they say. I’m still taking a hard pass.

Free designer cocktails, they say. And that’s a game-changer.

Too bad my ex shows up with his new arm candy. That’s when I lose my mind. But when my besties dare me to leap on the first single man I see, they don't expect me to actually go through with it.

TOM

All I need right now is some peace and quiet while my home renovation TV show is on hiatus. But when a curvy woman in a red wrap dress charges me like she’s a gymnast about to mount my high bar, all I can do is brace myself and catch her. What follows is the hottest experience of my adult life.

I want a repeat, but my flying Cinderella disappears immediately afterward. She doesn’t leave a glass slipper, either—just a pair of panties with chocolate bunnies printed on them.

But I will find her.

4.5*

The beginning of this story is completely hysterical, I have many-a-screenshot to prove it.

Brynn has been in a funk after she decided to divorce her husband. A husband that basically was aloof that he was even married. While this all sounds sad, this story is really anything but dramatic.

Brynn's friends take her to a party and after a run-in with her ex, she literally launches herself at a guy and ends up an internet "sensation".

The story is about these two, Brynn and Tom, trying to calm down any media with their fake engagement, only they realize things don't feel so fake.

Brynn seems to grow more confident everyday, and trusting in Tom. When you think their relationship is in jeopardy, Brynn comes out on top with all her matureness and un-needed drama, and that's what I liked so much about this book.,.aside from all the food and laughs.

This is one crazy bunch that I think a lot of people can get down with.

If you're looking for something light and fluffy with a dose of laughs and an HEA, this is definitely your book.

What the Hail, Lani Lynn Vale ~ Release

Title: What the Hail
Series: Hail Raisers #4
Author: Lani Lynn Vale
Genre: Romance Suspense
Release: December 14, 2017
Model: RJ Ritchie
Photographer: Furiousfotog

He’s wanted her since he repossessed her car and made her cry.
Baylor Hail knew two things. One, he hated crying females. Two, it was even worse when he was the one to make that female cry.
He never meant to do anything but his job, but when one thing leads to another, suddenly all he can think about is the broken woman whose car he towed.
She’s wanted him since he patted her back and told her it was okay to cry even though she knew he was lying.
Nothing ever goes right for Lark.
Not when she got married. Not when she tried to leave her abusive husband, and not when she arrived in a new town with a fresh, clean slate.
That clean slate came courtesy of a secret organization that specializes in helping abused women find a way out. They set her up with a whole new life. It just turns out that it happened to be right smack dab in the middle of another woman’s old one.
That woman also happens to be down on her luck, something that Lark learns the hard way when on her first day there, her car is towed by a handsome stranger.
It’s been two years since she’s felt any kind of sexual attraction toward a man, and she reacts badly. We’re talking full-on, hysterical breakdown as he loads her car onto his tow truck while looking at her like she’s lost it.
Maybe being crazy isn’t all that bad.
The next thing she knows, she’s spending time with the sexy stranger and life couldn’t be better—even though she still doesn’t have a car.
She thinks she’s in the clear, that she’s got it all figured out… well, that is until her ex-husband finds her again.
Now the ball is in her sexy stranger’s court as he decides whether or not her kind of crazy is worth getting killed over.
Turns out, for Baylor Hail, maybe it is.

Really enjoyed this story. But then again I have that sensation with all of Lani's books. It's just a thing with me.

I read this book and realized one thing; being a male tow truck driver and someone who repossesses vehicles would really suck when it came to women. I mean, men are bad enough due to the violence n all. But us women can just cry and leave some men utterly catatonic. The phrase 'use it or lose it' comes to mind. And in a case of losing your car, I'd say now's the perfect time to "use it"! Which Lark does and she hits Baylor's soft spot.

I thought these two
were sexy, sweet, and funny together. Both have been through some very dark places in their lives and are now learning to live again. Throw in a sweet dog and YUP! There goes my heart! I give it 5 stars.

Law & Beard ~ Lani Lynn Vale, Cover Reveal

Title: Law & Beard
Series: The Dixie Warden Rejects #8
Author: Lani Lynn Vale
Genre: MC Romance
Release Date: March 8, 2018
Photographer: Furious Fotog Cover Model: Joe Adams
Winnie thinks she has the perfect life. Two beautiful, healthy children. A police officer husband. A job that she loves. Oh, and let’s not forget that she’s a nationally ranked marathon runner. Fast forward six months, and her perfect life has imploded. Winnie finds herself in a completely new world, and this new world is a brutal bitch. In this new life of hers, her husband is gone. He realizes, at the worst possible time, that he’s no longer in love with her. He’s in love with her best friend. So he leaves, and doesn’t look back. Her sixteen-year-old daughter is in trouble with the law, and she’s barely making ends meet thanks to losing the job that was keeping her and her tiny family afloat. Then, the last thing that could make it all bearable, her running, is ripped out from under her, too. Thanks to a spinal stroke that leaves her unable to walk, let alone run, she’s having to relearn how to do the simplest of tasks—such as putting on her own pants. She’s at the lowest of lows, and the last thing she wants is a sexy, bearded, motorcycle riding alpha to tell her how to live her life. But Steel Cross never asks her what she wants. *** The moment Steel Cross sees Winnie’s daughter steal some shoes for her younger brother, he knows he’s in trouble. He’s a sucker for misunderstood teens. After all, he was once one himself. He knows he can’t just walk away, and the moment he sees that troubled teen’s mother, he doesn’t just know it, he feels it. Down to the very bottom of his soul. With his share of hard knocks, he knows that he shouldn’t step in and make his move on a fellow police officer’s ex. There’s a code, after all, yet he just can’t seem to help himself. He’s done being the good guy. Sometimes he just wants to be bad. And Winnie makes him realize that being bad is still kind of good. As long as you’re with the right person.
