Review by Iza
Ahhhh! Let's start with the setting of this book! New Orleans, early 20th century! Yes, please!
Let's continue with the story and characters. Ghosts, voodoo priestesses and witches, all of these are perfectly normal in a book set in NOLA. And in this one, people are more open-minded about them. They live peacefully, side by side. Well, okay, depends. It kind of changes when our heroine, Christine, has something her dad left her that everyone seems to want. That means everyone is out to get her.
This leads to our hero stepping in, Mr. Drake. Oh, please come in, Mr. Drake! He has his own demons but he can't help but constantly want to protect and rescue the heroine, that is not exactly a damsel in distress because she can hold her own. I loved that!
So, kick ass heroine? Check!
Dashing, protective, badass and yummy hero? Check!
Awesome setting? Check!
Great plot? Check!
Yup, all of that means a really happy me! I loved this book and I highly recommend it to anyone that loves a good paranormal romance. It deserves a 5-star rating and I can't wait for more!
I want to thank the publishers for the copy given in exchange for my honest review. My pleasure!
