Sweet Escape is another sweet read by Nina Lane. Hannah is the sister of Polly from book one and Evan is Luke’s brother. Hannah has always had wanderlust and doesn’t have any intentions of staying in Rainesville. She has agreed to stay and run Wild Child while Hannah attends school in Paris. Evan is running Sugar Rush while Luke stays with Polly.

Evan and Hannah were pretty hot together. I have to say as far as first kisses go in a book Evan and Hannah had a good one. Evan has wanted Hannah since he met her and jumps at the chance to spend time with her. Hannah is afraid of attachments because she has no intention of staying in town. But Evan convinces her to spend time with him and their hot, steamy affair begins.

I was kind of disappointed with Evan keeping his secret. It was dangerous to him and it put Hannah in a bad place when he fell ill. This story was a bit predictable but if you are looking for a sweet read to get lost in then you will enjoy this one.

We meet both Hannah and Evan in the previous book and I was anxious to see how their story played out. I enjoyed that Evan and Hannah had a comfortable and easy comraderie from the get-go. I was a bit upset with Evan for keeping things from not only his family, but from Hannah. Hannah was a strong character and I'm glad she it didn't feel like she was settling, and more like finding what she always searched for. I enjoyed that there was little drama and I'll definitely continue with the series as it becomes available.

I've been with MZ since Under Locke was published. To this day, that's my all-time fave MZ book.

There are a lot of people out there that love their romance to be slow burn. I don't mind them. I'm not really into insta-love - the whole falling-in-love-after-a-few-pages-you're-mine thing is not my cup of tea. I can't say slow burn is my fave either, so maybe something in between.

Anyway, I loved the characters from this book. Diana is awesome. She's down-right awesome. And my fave after Iris. Louie and Josh, Diana's nephews were the bomb of the story. They were either making me laugh or cry. They were perfect side characters.

Dallas... At first, I didn't really have an opinion about him. I didn't like him or dislike him. But as we oh-so-very-slowly got to know him, I started to like him. He was something else. Their friendship grew into a connection then love.

I loved the cameo Dex made. Lord have mercy, I swooned! Kulti was there too, the sexy bratwurst.

I actually really liked the plot. So why the 4 stars, you ask? Well, It was a bit too slow burn for me. I, for one, truly believe that MZ didn't have to add that one and only sex scene at 95%. Why? It either should have happened sooner or not at all. I skipped through it because I didn't see the point of it. But that's just me and my two cents.

I'm looking forward to what else MZ has up her sleeve and I hope her next one will dethrone Under Locke for me. Who knows, maybe one day.

Scarlet has left her home in London to return to her place of birth Savannah. I can’t really describe to you why Scarlet is there except to say she is on a spiritual journey. Her former life as a thief was toxic to her so she needs a fresh start. You will probably figure out her reason for going to Savannah as you read between the lines. But it doesn’t make it any less painful once you find out why.

“My name is Scarlet Stone, and I’m drawn to anything out of the ordinary, the crazy, the eccentric. I’ve been this way all my life.”

On the plane to Savannah she meets Nolan and finds out he has a place she can rent. After arriving she moves in but her roommate is a grumpy and mean Theodore Reed. I loved these scenes. Waiting to see what Theo would do anytime Scarlet antagonized him was fun. Theo is hiding some deep pain and he is only in the home temporarily. He is on a mission of revenge and doesn’t want anyone or anything to stand in his way. He didn’t count on Scarlet Stone messing up his life. He is annoyed by the way she speaks and basically everything she does. I loved Scarlet. She was so different and I loved to read what was going on in her head.

All I can say is prepare yourself for a wild ride! If you have read any Jewel E. Ann books you know what I mean. This had a great mystery to solve and I was anxiously turning the pages to get to the reveal. Scarlet Stone definitely hits you in the feels with the heavy angsty emotion. It is deep and painful but very moving. This is definitely a story you need to look deeper into and believe in miracles. The miracle part didn’t work for me but that is the skeptic in me. This was another fabulous read by Jewel E. Ann. As always her stories are a unique reading experience. I think you are going to love the grumpy Theo and the quirky Scarlet Stone.

“And you?” she asks, leaning in closer through the window with a flirtatious smile gracing her lips.

“See. That’s perfect! We can have fun together.”
“Don’t you have somewhere to be?” I ask. “You were flying across the street like the cops were after you.”
She laughs. “Well, if they were, wouldn’t you want to help me escape them? We’ve been in the road for five minutes. They could be coming any minute now,” she says, playfully widening her eyes in a panic.
“I don’t need to be an accessory to anything, so no, I wouldn’t help.”
“You’re no fun,” she says with a pout.
“I told you.”
“Come on,” she whines. “Take me somewhere.” She leans in and I find myself leaning closer to her. Her brown eyes watch mine, waiting for me to object, but I don’t. I feel her lips touch my neck, but barely. She’s just brushing them against my skin, and then she whispers into my ear. “Take me somewhere and you can take me however you like.” Her voice drops to a husky whisper and my cock responds. She licks and kisses my neck, her free hand running across my stomach and towards my jeans. “Don’t make me beg,” she breathes into my ear. Her hand cups my cock through my jeans, and she moans.
“Get in,” I growl.
She hurries around to the passenger side and climbs in, throwing her book and messenger bag to the floor board before scooting next to me. Up until now, Mia has taken all the punishment her father doles out, but when he goes after a different target, Mia decides to take control; she decides she will marry a Toscani, but wants to marry Nico. She propositions him, and after an initial denial, Nico realizes he has an innate need to protect Mia from her family and believes he's the person for the job.

Nico and Mia do have chemistry and their marriage of convenience quickly turns into something stronger. The last few chapters had me on the edge of my seat....and now I'm going to be anxiously awaiting Luca's story.
