SYNOPSIS
There were two brothers—identical twins—and though I loved them both, my soul belonged to only one.
Annalia Del Valle has loved Preston Sawyer all her life. The daughter of an impoverished migrant farmworker, she grew up as an outcast in what was no more than a tiny, cooped up shack in California’s Central Valley. But her heart found freedom in the land, in the wide-open spaces of Sawyer Farm, and in the boys who were her only friends.
Preston has yearned for Annalia since he was a boy. But a sense of honor kept him from pursuing her until he’s unable to hold back any longer and their worlds—and bodies—collide one hot summer night. A night that sets off a chain of events that will alter their lives forever.
Now Annalia is back in town after disappearing without a trace for six long months. Determined to reclaim her heart, her life, and the baby she left behind—the son who was created in a moment of lust and love and pent-up yearning.
Preston has survived grief, a ravaging drought, and the despair of heartache, but he’s not sure he can survive Annalia again. And he might be unwilling to try. Will pride and bitterness keep him from the one thing he’s always longed for?
How do you heal what is irreparably broken? How do you forgive that which is unforgivable? How do you discover that real honor comes not from circumstance, but from the place deep in our hearts where truth resides? And how do you move beyond the wounds of the past to discover that some loves are as solid as the ground beneath your feet, and as enduring as the earth itself?
THIS IS A STAND-ALONE SIGN OF LOVE NOVEL, INSPIRED BY GEMINI. New Adult Contemporary Romance: Due to strong language and sexual content, this book is not intended for readers under the age of 18.

Annalia Del Valle is a dreamer. The daughter of a migrant farm worker Lia wants to leave the impoverished life she has for bigger things. All Preston has ever wanted was Annalia and his farm.
Lia’s mother worked on the Preston brother’s farm. Although her mother changed jobs Lia’s friendship continued with the twins Cole and Preston. These three grew up together and they all cared deeply for each other. The boys didn’t see the differences they had but Lia knew they were from different worlds.
Cole and Preston both care for Lia. When she is old enough to date they have to decide who gets her. Cole cares for Lia but not to the extent that Preston does. Lia and Preston have loved each other for years but have never communicated it to each other. They cause a lot of hurt and pain by not speaking their truth to each other sooner. it finally comes to a head and they can’t deny it any longer. Their moment of passion changes their world dramatically by two events: one beautiful and one tragic.
I adored Lia. Although this story is the sign of Gemini with the twins Cole and Preston; this story was really Lia’s journey. One of my favorite things about a Mia Sheridan book is she writes heartbreaking heroes. In this story the person that touched my soul with her story of childhood to adulthood was Annalia. My heart hurt for the loneliness and rejection she felt growing up. Then at a young age she becomes a mother and enters a hostile home. Her love story with Preston never got to fully develop and she feels lost. You could feel her isolation and fear. I liked how Lia issues were handled and understood why she had to leave for those six months. The story did drag a bit in some places. It did lack some romance but this was because of how things played out for these two. As I stated I felt this was Lia’s journey so it’s not heavy on romance.

Preston has adored the impoverished Annalia (Lia) since he first set eyes on her when they were children. We know from the prologue that Preston and Lia have a child together; what we don't know is what caused their separation.
We get a lot of back story with Preston and Lia; how they first met, how their friendship and ultimately, how their love story developed. Their story isn't an easy one; Lia suffers with feeling inadequate due to her poverty and the way she's been seen by her mother since her birth. Preston feels a sense of honor, being bound by a promise to his brother, and his attraction to Lia is pushing his limits and his honorable intentions.
When Preston and Lia finally decide to hash out their rift, it's cathartic, not only for them but for the reader as well. We get into why Lia ran and why Preston didn't pursue Lia more, when that have saved them both a lot of heart ache. I enjoy that they decided to fight for each other, instead of letting hurt feelings get in the way. The epilogue is sweet, and exactly what I love to see in an epilogue. I love getting those little glimpses into the future.
