This book sucked me in, first the cover than in the prologue. I knew after that that I probably wouldn't put it down until I read it in one go.
Kaseys writing style is almost flawless and pretty damn engaging.
As for the story itself, I was a under the impression that she was going to be this uber badass from the beginning, but no, she wasn't, which i was a liiiiitle disappointed in. Turns out she was just a sweet 18 year girl with a family, who was abruptly taken away from her. As to the why's, well, we get to learn them along the way with the h of the story.
In the beginning it starts to read as a YA book, but then Elle/Alicia must become something and someone else to infiltrate the club that so brutally murdered her family. That's when things pick up the pace and get "steamy", definitely making this NOT a YA book ;) While some things seem a little " over the top" you have to remember, its fiction, and adds to the intensity of the story.
Amongst all the plotting, there is a "romance" slowly brewing, so not only does our h get a hea, but she gets the guy too.
Overall I give this a 3.75 stars :)
This storyline is very Quentin Tarantino-ish in my opinion. Some of it is a bit far-fetched, but it's so entertaining. Everything is literal. Often in books, threats are made, but in this book they're followed through with action.
Alecia's parents were murdered, and she's willing to stop at nothing for revenge.
She definitely has the grit to follow through with a plan no matter how gross it is.
Alecia receives help from a select few along the way, some known and unknown. The side characters are actually a quite interesting odd bunch in their own right also.
