SUMMARY
A beard-related dare and one hot-as-hell kiss changes everything.
NFL center Ethan Dexter’s focus has always been on playing football and little else. Except when it comes to one particular woman. The lovely Fiona Mackenzie might not care about his fame, but she’s also never looked at him as anything more than one of her brother-in-law’s best friend. That ends now.
Fi doesn’t know what to make of Dex. The bearded, tattooed, mountain of man-muscle looks more like a biker than a football player. Rumor has it he’s a virgin, but she finds that hard to believe. Because from the moment he decides to turn his quiet intensity on her she’s left weak at the knees and aching to see his famous control fully unleashed.
Dex is looking for a forever girl, but they live vastly different lives in separate cities. Fi ought to guard her heart and walk away. But Dex has upped his game and is using all his considerable charm to convince Fi he's her forever man.

SHANDA'S REVIEW - 4.5 STARS
4.5 stars
You can read this as a standalone but I recommend at least reading book two The Friend Zone first. Ivy and Gray from book two are featured a lot in The Game Plan but if knowing what is happening with them doesn’t bother you then read away.
Ms. Callihan doesn’t go the typical NA route with a ton of angst with the Game On series and I love that. Even though her characters are young they deal with real life growing pains. They are all making choices about what direction they want their life to take from careers to love. I especially love that her heroines are all very career driven or are searching for their dream jobs. They aren’t looking for love and hoping it will fix everything, you get to witness them “making things happen” for themselves.
You met Fi in The Friend Zone, the so called flighty sister that bounces from idea to idea and hasn’t settled. Dex is the best friend of Gray from The Friend Zone; he is shy and quiet and has admired Fi from afar for a while. He has been waiting for Fi to notice him and after they both end up visiting Ivy and Gray for a week she FINALLY SEES Dex and doesn’t stand a chance.
I don’t know what to say about Ethan Dexter except he is just pretty freaking awesome. I felt his reasons for still being a virgin were very authentic and made sense. Bottom line if you love a gentle giant with a sweet soul you will love Ethan Dexter. He deserved to get the girl of his dreams and I think Fi was a perfect match for him. Fi is feisty and funny but she was also vulnerable. Dex is the last man she expected to end up with because she didn’t want the public eye on her. When this is forced on her in a humiliating way she does take a stand and takes control back.
The Game Plan was a solid and fun read.
I can’t wait for more in this series.

IZA'S REVIEW - 5 STARS
Sweet baby cherubs! THIS BOOK! It has given me a major funk that I still haven't recovered from!
"Do you want to kiss me again, Fiona?"
If I were Fiona, I would NOT stop kissing you. Ever! Seriously.
Okay, let's get serious here. It's the first book I've read by Kristen Calliahn. Will it be my last? No. Will I get this beauty as a paperback and snuggle with it? Yes. I'm so head-over-heels-arse-over-tits in love with Dex, you cannot imagine!
So, it all starts with a dare. Touch The Beard. I couldn't believe that the heroine didn't like beards! I mean, Dex was uber-sexy - the author has an awesome way of describing characters, of making them come alive and feel so real, unbelievable - with a beard and long hair, plus he's a football player. Yes, that also means he's big and he's badass. He's perfect!
"Flowing hair and full beard, he also looks a bit wild - pure man when I've only ever been with boys." *sa-woon*
But I had faith in Ms. Callihan, Dex and his beard. They'd turn Fi into a believer. After The Beard was touched, take a wild guess what happened!
Fan-girling over a character aside, this book is really so good! You have swoon-worthy scenes, you have the very hot ones - hoo boy - and you have a touch of drama thrown in, because that is acceptable in books. Plus, it's not an exaggeration. Kudos, Ms. Callihan!
I myself am now a believer of this author and will most definitely give her other books a try and follow this series because it's going to be so good!
Seriously, do yourself a favor and read this one; meet one of the few heroes that's sweet, will melt your heart but is also an alpha. Why can't more heroes be like Dex?
