BLURB
What’s worse than losing everything? Try driving a phallic-shaped RV across the country with a vile womanizing coworker.
Copywriter Callie Murphy has a bad attitude, a vicious tongue, and a serious aversion to Shimura Advertising’s resident manwhore, Walker Rhodes. Know where he can stick his good looks and Southern charm? She can think of a few creative places. Avoiding him wouldn’t be a problem, except her boss threatens to fire her if she doesn’t go along with him on their RV client’s cross-country tour.
Burnt-out art director, Walker, is sick of his job, tired of women, and in a big old creative rut. The upcoming client road trip is just what he needs to shake things up and rediscover his lost passion. But his plans go south when his partner drops out at the last minute, and Callie, the foul-mouthed tiny terror, takes her place. Unless he can find a way to thaw his icy coworker, he’s looking at two month’s of pure hell.
On the road, they experience one hilarious misadventure after another and soon find themselves on a life-changing journey. But when their paths veer off in different directions, will they hit a dead end?

This was a fantastic debut novel by Nicole Archer. I saw this advertised on Penny Reid’s page (I’m a big fan) and I love a unique book cover so I was pretty excited to dive in. If you love Rom-Coms with a fun and creative storyline you will love Road-Tripped.
Callie Murphy is a copywriter who has just been told she has to go on cross-country tour with her “manwhore” co-work Walker Rhodes for an RV campaign. Callie is fresh off of a bad breakup and kind of angry at life right now. She has a foul mouth and a mean temper and the last thing she wants to do is spend time in an RV with Walker.
Walker is Shimura’s art director and he is sick and tired of his job. Walker’s real passion is photography; so the chance to go on this trip is just what he needs to get his creative juices flowing. When his partner drops out and he gets stuck with Callie he is prepared for two months of hell. But Walker works that southern charm and gets through to Callie.
I loved the realism and the relatability in this story. Like a lot of people they are both stuck in a job that is sucking the life out of them. They start out driving each other crazy but on the road they both find themselves creatively and personally. Callie and Walker were so good for each other and so much fun to read about. My only frustration was the perception Callie had of Walker clouded her judgment for most of the story. Callie was stubborn and wouldn’t let him explain so it drove me a little crazy. That being said I thought Callie was a really strong heroine but she had a mountain of hurt to get over. Walker was perfect for Callie with his Southern charm and his good heart.
I just adored the road trip plot for this story. The playlist with each chapter was so much fun and the imagery was great. You can tell the author put a lot research and thought into this novel and it paid off. I felt like I was on the road trip with them and it made me want to get my own Silver Dildo and go on the road. I have to say I highlighted a lot of scenes and quotes so I can’t list them all but the nude beach and the trip to grandma’s were a few of my favorites. This book also had a lot of laugh out loud moments and the banter was awesome.
Well done Nicole Archer! I can’t wait to see who you plan on doing a book on next. Skip? Babs? Effie?......I will definitely be 1-clicking your next release.
