DannysDragon-banner2
Synopsis
A rugged, muscular cop.
A sexy computer genius.
Secret desires.
Brought together by a crime committed on a cold dark night.
From the moment they meet, their lives can never be the same again…
Wild and rugged Dave Pearce is haunted by the demons of his past. He’s done his best to make a life for himself after the devastation of his lover’s suicide years earlier, but the trauma has left its mark on his soul.
Danny Wong is what Dave considers a “nerdy Bruce Lee.” Handsome, refined, out of his league.
But that doesn’t matter.
Dave believes himself to be dangerous for any man who would love him. So he stays back in the shadows, letting the desire he harbors for the hot grad student remain unrequited.

Excerpt

Footsteps in the hall jerked Danny from his fantasy. Danny’s heartbeat sped up. It was him. Pearce.
He leaned back, away from the computer screen at which he’d been staring for the last twenty minutes during his fantasy, and discreetly swiveled his desk chair, just enough to be able to watch the campus police officer pass his door on his nightly patrol of the building. Since the start of the school year last September, Danny had gotten to know the man’s work schedule, and as time passed, had made certain he was at his desk just for the moment’s glance he got of him each night. The only thing he knew about Pearce, besides the time he patrolled Stata Center, was his name.
Pearce reached the doorway and peered in as he passed. He did that every night, giving Danny a clear view of his large blue eyes set deep in his freckled face. He was a rugged man with a strong jaw. His cap thankfully didn’t cover all of his short-cropped reddish-blond hair, and his blue uniform jacket rested evenly on his broad shoulders. Danny couldn’t even count at this point how many times he had imagined what the guy’s chest looked like underneath his clothes.
When he saw Danny he smiled, as if he was truly glad to see him. “Working late again, eh?”
Danny felt heat flush his cheeks, feeling like Pearce could see into his head, see the hot fantasy he entertained nearly every night. He nodded, hunching down a bit. He’d be mortified if Pearce saw the erection pushing out his pants. “Always.”
The police officer nodded. “Same here.” A heartbeat passed in which he appeared to want to say more. “Hope it’s going well.”
Danny shrugged, struggling to appear casual. If the other man lingered a moment longer, his voice was going to stick in his throat and embarrass him. His eye fell on the nametag. David Pearce. “Not so much.”
Pearce smiled again. “Don’t push it.”
Danny shook his head, his heart beginning to pound. “I won’t.”
The other man remained in the doorway, giving Danny the sense he was lingering. “Just be careful leaving so late. I see you here often at this time, and I keep wanting to tell you that.”
Danny heard a protective note in the other man’s voice which sent another tingle up his spine. One more moment and his voice would fail him completely. “Thank you.”
Pearce nodded. “It’s my job.” He paused. “Well, I guess I should let you get back to work. Take care now.”
This was the longest exchange they’d had yet, and a strange energy zinged through the room like a ball bouncing back and forth between them. Danny wondered if he was imagining it.
He returned the nod. “You too.” Feeling like a nervous adolescent, he swiveled his chair quickly around and stared at the screen again. He attempted to resume his typing but stopped because his hands were trembling. He sighed and slumped back in the chair.

Spotlight & Giveaway ~ Disappear With Me by Dean Pace - Frech

Disappear With Me Spotlight Post & Giveaway June 14-21

I am happy to announce that the Second Edition of Disappear With Me is available from Amber Quill Press!

Blurb:
Love is greater than hope or faith, but can Reverend Leander Norris convince a jury that the love he shares with another man is natural?
In 1910, the United Kingdom was in turmoil. King Edward died after only nine years on the throne. The social class system that upheld British society for centuries was being chipped away by social, political, and economic unrest across the Commonwealth. Amidst this backdrop, Reverend Leander Norris is accused of sodomy. After discovering his own self-worth and unconditional love, Leander finds the courage to stand up for what he believes is right and pleads not guilty to the charges. Throughout the trial, Leander’s past is revealed, including the temptations that bring the accusations against him. By the end of the trail, Leander is once again reunited with a romantic interest from the past, but it may be too late to rekindle any love that might remain, given the circumstances of the era and Leander’s likely sentence
.
Excerpt:
“Are you not a scholar?” Weeks asked. “Do you not know the Bible that you preach from each Sunday?”
“I know it very well,” Leander answered. “But the Bible has many interpretations. I think you can guess that mine might be a little less than conventional.”
Weeks reclined back in his chair. He made a steeple with his fingers and rested them on his pursed lips. “You're actually sitting here telling me that, as a man of God, you're all right with buggery and feel you've done nothing wrong?”
“Mr. Weeks, do you realize you keep asking me the same question over again, using different words?”
“As your counsel, I need to be sure that I understand your position, the one you expect me to defend.”
“You sound shocked that I would suggest such a thing. I can't have you defending me if you don't believe it yourself.”
“Reverend, my beliefs about the situation are irrelevant; it doesn't matter what I believe. I need to be able to defend our position in court and hope our defense can refute what the prosecution will present.”
“I have to have conviction in my sermons each Sunday morning. I think you also know you need to have conviction when defending your clients.”
“And I can assure you that I have that same conviction to make sure that you receive a fair trial. I will do my best—”
“Do your best to what? Go through the motions and make sure that the I's are dotted and the T's are crossed so it looks like I've been given a good defense?”
Weeks didn't answer and that was all the answer that Leander needed. After a moment, Weeks tried to start again. “Look, Reverend, I am your assigned counsel for this trial. I am on your side. I want to see you get a fair trial, but you must understand what we're up against is quite overwhelming.”
“I know; I've never done anything the simple way.”
“Sir, you must understand that we are going up against laws that are rooted in two thousand years of Christian tradition and about as many years of British attitude.”
“Mr. Weeks, do you love your wife?”
Weeks let out an impatient sigh. “Of course, but here you go asking intimate questions about me that have no bearing on my defending your case.”
“Humor me, sir. Do you love your wife?”
“Yes, I very much love my wife and family.”
“What if you woke up tomorrow and a constable showed up on your doorstep and arrested you because they said the love you share with your wife was illegal?”
Weeks didn't answer him. Instead, in a quiet voice, he said, “You know you and I are just two people. We're not going to change these laws overnight.”

Blue Moon Too Good To Be True by A.E. Via

Blue Moon Too Good To Be True

by
A.E Via

Synopsis:

Angel DeLucca is one of the most sought after gay bachelors in Virginia Beach, but when he tries to find true love, no one takes him seriously. After a one-night stand goes wrong, he comes into contact with hunky, straight, firefighter Maximus (Max) Strong, and Angel’s mission in life is now clear.

Max’s older, protective, brother, Ryker secretly craves the attention and praise of a Master. Angel’s Security Chief, Master Dom, Sebastian ‘Bass’ Bagetteli, shatters that secret with their first intense encounter.

These men’s stories will unravel in a whirlwind of romance, bondage, revelations, action scenes, and very hot sex

Playing Monopoly...what the fuck do you think we were doing?”

"Is this alright?" Angel whispered close to his ear."
Angel, I'm scared at how right this feels."

This book is E.A. Via’s debut novel,  and it was right on target with all the right “Damn” ingredients:      Damn Fine Firefighter
Damn Long Ass Hair
Damn Huge Dom
&
Just DAYUM!!!!!

"All he could do was whimper for more and beg him not to stop."

I cannot say how much I loved this book, the way the author wrote in three parts,  loved it so much I turned around did a re-read after I started this review. In the first part we meet Max and Angel, firefighter and Bar Owner.  My favorite type M/M #GayForYou,  Max that is, straight man falling under the spell of manwhore,  Angel who is notorious for having flavors of the day not week.  Max may have been the virgin of the pair but he was all for letting Angel seduce him.

He wanted something from me that he didn’t deserve, and I wasn’t willing to give him,”
“And what was that?” Max whispered, now intrigued.

“Control.”
In the first part we met Max’s brother Ryker, who has raised Max by himself since Max learned to walk. The only thing Ryke is looking for is a Master to take control of him and his life. He finds this in Master Sebastian, Angels Head of Security. Trust is the biggest obstacle in Bass and Ryker’s relationship, can Bass fill the bill?  Hell to the YEAH, he can.  In the last part starts with abduction of Angel and we meet "The Beastmasters" an elite Seal team under "Shot"Angel's fathers  command,Toad, Hawk, Viper and Call.  FBI agent Fox and DEA agent "Backhander", lots of chemistry for future books in the series. (hint hint)!

"Love you, have fun...don't forget the lube."

Great job A.E. on your debut novel, looking forward to many more stories and especially more of the "beastmasters"

I give this 4 1/2 smacking stars on Rykers white ass.
