Title: The Revenger
Author: Debra Anastasia
Release Date: February 22nd 2016
Synopsis
The real hero of this
story is dead. You should have met him. He was a beautiful man. The love of my
life. I didn’t deserve him.
Now what’s left are the jagged edges of the person I am without him, and what I have to do to get by. This isn’t even a story about love. Not really. It’s a twisted tale of revenge and hate—a happily never after.
The only man in my life now is the one I have to kill.

Excerpt
"What the hell are you?” He searched frantically for the door
latch, his panic making him oblivious to the open top of the Jeep above him.
He didn’t deserve an answer, and he wouldn’t get one. Only in her
head would she respond. She pulled him from the backseat and held him aloft,
thinking, I’m a mom without a reason. I’m
a person without a life. I’m dead with no escape.
Review by Iza
This is, indeed, a darker book. The blurb is right - the real hero of the story is dead.
But that doesn't mean it's not a good book. So far, the books I've read by Debra were funny ones or gut-you-and-give-you-all-the-feels ones. Her Poughkeepsie Brotherhood series is still a fave of mine, I love those boys.
This book, however, is something really different. But good. I can't really put my finger on the genre. Sort of paranormal-ish, gives you the feeling you're watching a DC Comic movie. It's really interesting how Debra created it all, this story where the heroine seeks revenge for what happened to her.
It kept me curious and interested, and even though I sort of knew what the ending would be - it's truly inevitable - I still held my breath. But I was okay with that ending. To be honest, anything else would have ruined the rest of the story. Plus, I foresee another book and am really curious how that will turn out.
Debra Anastasia is one of those authors that knows how to continually surprise you. Shake you up. I like it, makes life more interesting. 4 stars and I want to thank the author in exchange for my honest review.
