SUMMARY

With a seven-year age difference, Ryke & Daisy have faced an uphill battle in the eyes of the world and their families. Known as the most adventurous, fast-paced couple — their next step has always been elusive to the rabid media.

Behind the scenes, heartbreaking troubles continue to test Ryke & Daisy’s resilience and shape their future together.
They promise:
To never slow down.
To never compromise who they are.
To never abandon their love for each other.
But preserving their happiness also means adding more risks. Ones that Connor Cobalt wouldn’t even take. As a professional free-solo climber, Ryke is no stranger to risk, but his next step with Daisy wagers more than just his health.
With their lives on the line, Ryke & Daisy head towards the vast, wild unknown in this epic final conclusion to the Addicted series.
HELLO AND THANK YOU FOR VISITING OUR BLOG TODAY!
I am new to the series this year and have become an Addicted Series convert. I binge read these in about two months ( with the help of Audio which I highly recommend ) and fell in love. I even got my friend Angie to read these and she just got caught up. Angie was kind enough to take Flat-Shanda to Sassy in Savannah and we got to take a pic with the twins.
If you haven't started this series yet you need to jump on it. This is one of the most well written series I have ever read and I love each and every character. Congrats to K&B on the release of Long Way Down on Friday I can't wait!
Becca: Thank you for having us on your blog, and for bing-reading the series! That’s amazing! And we’re so happy you stuck with all the books until the very end.
Krista: We’re always so excited when people tell us they’ve read all of them! It’s such a long series, so it really means a lot to us *hugs*
Becca: being able to tie up the entire series. There was so much that we’ve been putting off on writing. We’d be like leave that for the end, that’ll be at the end, that goes at the end. Well, we finally reached the end! It’s so bittersweet and overwhelming.
Krista: Agreed! It was really great getting to add in all the details and plots that we’ve kept around for the end. There are some things we’ve been literally keeping secret for years, so to finally put them on paper and to now share it with readers is incredibly fulfilling.
Becca: every wild moment in between.
Krista: raisy all day every day
Becca: I missed them so much! They’re the most “physical” of the three couples, but when you’re not in their POVs, you actually don’t see a lot of their intimate conversations. I was really excited to jump back into their heads and write those couple moments.
Krista: They’re so different than the other couples, so being in their heads was really refreshing. They definitely have the most creative sexy moments ;)
Becca: Yes! We can’t say what or discuss it, but there’s something that we wanted to do all the way back in Kiss the Sky. We actually wrote it in the original version of Kiss the Sky (it was ultimately taken out). But it seamlessly fit into this plot / story, so we were really excited to do it.
Krista: Yes, I love that scene Becca is talking about! We even tried to squeeze it into Addicted After All at one point. But it still didn’t work. For it to fit into Long Way Down so seamlessly, it was as if it was meant to be.
Becca: Yes! Sweet Disposition by The Temper Trap evokes the spirit Ryke & Daisy so much. I can’t listen to it without thinking of them.
Krista: Fire and the Flood by Vance Joy is another one that was very Raisy while we wrote LWD.
Becca: there’s always usually a struggle around the 30,000 – 40,000 word mark for any book we write. It’s the cusp of us just learning what the book is truly about. We always have plot-point outlines, but we discover new things as we write too. Just like our other books, we had a bumpy area around here for Long Way Down too.
Krista: Yeah, that rough area that Becca is talking about was difficult for us. We ended up cutting about 40,000 words and then re-tooling the entire middle. Ultimately, it was for the best and the book reads much more fluidly for it.
Becca: we don’t like duplicating past plots, so there won’t be road trips like Hothouse Flower since this is a different book. That being said, there are lots of destinations in Long Way Down to be excited for! I won’t say what though.
Krista: Like Becca said, having another road trip would feel way too repetitive. But Long Way Down definitely has its own trips :)
Becca: we have a huge love for science fiction and fantasy. Paranormal too, but more science fiction. We wrote tons of YA science fiction and fantasy books before ever writing the Addicted series. (None of them have seen the light of day, if you’re wondering where they are!) I think that’s something that’s always been a love of ours.
Krista: Agree with Becca! We hope to one day publish something in the YA genre, preferably science fiction or fantasy.
Becca: so emotional. This has been such a huge part of our lives for so many years now. It’s really defined our life after college. (We started the Addicted series our senior year of college and published Addicted to You summer of my graduation.)
Krista: It’s incredibly bittersweet. Thinking about the end of this era in our own lives as well as the characters moves me to tears. Never in a million years did we think this series would have such a large impact on us.
Becca: I’d say for Connor and Rose, it’s anything by Edith Piaf, especially La vie en rose.
Krista: For Lily & Lo, it’s definitely Wildest Moments by Jessie Ware.
Becca: Thanks so much for reading Amour Amour! It always fills our hearts when we hear that someone has read our standalone book. We definitely hope to expand the Amour Amour universe. If we feel compelled, there may be another one after Infini too :)
Krista: We’re so excited to jump back into the Amour Amour universe with Infini. The circus is something we genuinely love, and it’s always so much fun to write.
Becca: Usually writers who write nothing like me. I’m so amazed by lyrical writers who can create such harmony in sentences. I’m really excited about Lena Coakley’s new novel (Worlds of Ink and Shadow) because her other book called Witchlanders moved me so much. I remember being shocked to silence when I finished it. I’ll reread quotes and wonder how someone can create so much beauty and depth in a single sentence.
Krista: I love writers that have amazing characters that I can instantly fall in love with. Wendy Higgins, Victoria Schwab, and Kiera Cass are just a few. One of Victoria Schwab’s Youtube videos introduced me to her calendar/sticker word count tracking method (obviously a horrible description) and it really changed how I pace myself with writing.
Becca: teleportation! Krista and I have had a long discussion about this, and I think we’re in agreement that it’s the best power. Right, Krista?
Krista: Yes! Definitely! Teleportation is the only way to go.
Becca: dreamer
Krista: thinker
Becca: Fuel the Fire is still the hardest book. You can thank Connor Cobalt for that mind-challenge. Long Way Down was mostly challenging in the fact that this is the end, and we needed to finally wrap up the whole story and do it as concisely as we could.
Krista: Yeah, Fuel the Fire was difficult all around. Long Way Down was just challenging in certain aspects. I think the only reason LWD took us the longest to write is because of its length.
Becca: Just a huge thank you to all the readers! We’re so grateful for your support and the fact that you’ve taken this journey with us. We know the series is a huge commitment, and we’re continuously floored and so very honored to see you here with us, at the very end.
Krista: We never thought that people would want to read a ninth book in a series. Let alone, a ninth book in a series written by us. Like Becca said, we’re just so insanely grateful.
Thanks so much for having us on your blog!!
