Book Description:
Seduce the teacher.
Meet the cousin.
Make a deal.
Steal the painting.
Andrea Anderson has no clue of the thoughts churning around in the dark and dangerous ex-con’s head as he enters her classroom. In fact, she’s momentarily lost for words. Not in her entire teaching career has she had a student who looked quite like Stu Cross.
A widow at just twenty-eight, love is something Andie hasn’t considered a part of her life for a very long time. However, when lingering touches turn to whispered words and hot, searching stares, she begins to wonder if maybe she should take a leap of faith.
But Stu is in her class for a reason, and it has nothing to do with love. He’s there to burrow his way into her life and repay a debt, otherwise his family will suffer. Andie is the first person to show him true kindness since he left prison, and though he doesn’t want to mislead her, he doesn’t have another choice.
Before long, Stu can’t tell whether or not he’s acting anymore, and his feelings for Andie could throw all of his carefully crafted plans into complete and utter disarray.
**Can be read as a stand alone.

Shanda's 4 star review
Thief of Hearts follows the story of Stu Cross who has recently been released from prison and Andrea Anderson the widowed teacher he falls for. Stu has told Andrea that he has to take her class as a part of his parole. Andrea teaches students that haven’t been in school for a long time. She tries to help them gain skills that will help them continue their education. Stu doesn’t show any interest in learning which frustrates Andrea. He is too busy flirting and stirring up feelings in her that she is uncomfortable with.
Stu is soon struggling with his feelings for Andrea and keeping the secrets that could destroy any future with her. Once the reasons for Stu’s secrecy comes to light it really became interesting to see where Andrea would land with things. I enjoyed the caper and the side characters were great. The epilogue was also one of the best I have read in a long time and it made me smile for Alfie. All in all this was another great addition to the series.
I am looking forward to the final book Hearts on Air with Trevor and Reya. It will be sad to see the series end but it will remain an all time fave.

Amy's 4 Star Review
We met Stu briefly in previous books from this series; from what we see, he isn't what most would consider a "good guy". He's recently been released from prison after taking the hit for stealing cars to save his brothers. Stu has always felt that his family had to take care of him, and is a bit frustrated by that.....he wants to be able to take care of them, at any cost.
Andie is a teacher at a local community college; she specializes in adults who are trying to strengthen their skills and believes Stu is part of her class as a part of his reintegration into society. Andie lives with her extremely skiddish cousin, Alfie, who paints. Andie lost her husband four years earlier to cancer, and she's still in a holding pattern since his loss.
Andie and Stu have some chemistry, although I wouldn't describe it as off the charts. However....the closet scene in quite steamy and a little risque considering the location. We know from the book blurb that Stu is getting close to Andie to get to Alfie, but I was surprised by how much I liked Stu in this book. He's very much wears his heart on his sleeve, so although we know he's working Andie to some point, I think we can also see how he struggles to do so, as he realizes that she's becoming more than a pawn to him.
Alfie and his friend Jamie are both pretty hilarious. Even though we only get short scenes with them, they are packed full of entertainment, and I wish we got a little more with them.
Andie eventually learns of Stu's issue and agrees to help him out any way she can, which he is grateful for, but at the same time, he doesn't want her involved. There was a twist I didn't see coming, which really shocked me, but I think it helped to push the story forward despite it's shock.
All in all, I did enjoy this story, even though it wasn't my favorite in the story. Stu was definitely a bright spot for me; and the epilogue was all kinds of happy for me.
