Tour Stop + Review Damnable Grace, Hades Hangmen series by Tillie Cole

EVEN THE BROKEN, THROUGH LOVE, CAN FIND GRACE...

Secrets never stay hidden.

The burden of guilt never lifts from the heart.

Born and raised in The Order of David, Sister Phebe knows nothing but cult life. Head of the Sacred Sisters of New Zion, Phebe was groomed from childhood for one purpose: to seduce. Prized as a harlot, as a New Zion whore, Phebe is taken from the doomed cult by Meister, the notorious leader of the Aryan Brotherhood. Taken as his possession. Taken to be the woman who will obey his every sexual demand. Under his heavy hand, Phebe finds herself in a place much worse than she could ever have imagined... with absolutely no one to help. And no glimpse of hope.

Xavier ‘AK’ Deyes is content with his life as Sergeant-At-Arms of the Hades Hangmen. Leader of the infamous ‘Psycho Trio’ and ex-special ops sniper, AK knows how to fight. Experienced in warfare and schooled in military operations, AK is vital to the Hangmen. When his Vice President needs help retrieving his missing sister-in-law, Phebe, from a Klan-funded trafficking ring, AK volunteers to go in. AK remembers the redhead from New Zion. Remembers everything about her from the single time they met—her red hair, blue eyes and freckled face. But when he finds her, heavily drugged and under Meister’s control, her sorry condition causes him to remember more than the beautiful woman he once tied to a tree. Saving Phebe forces hidden demons from his past to return. A past he can never move on from, no matter how hard he tries.

As AK fights to help Phebe, and in turn she strives to help him, they realize their secret sins will never leave them alone. Kindred broken souls, they realize the only way they can be rid of their ghosts is to face them together and try to find peace.

Despair soon turns to hope, and damaged hearts soon start to heal. But when their deep, painful scars resurface, becoming too much to bear, the time comes when they must make a heavy choice: stay forever damned; or together, find grace.

Dark Contemporary Romance. Contains explicit sexual situations, violence, disturbingly sensitive and taboo subjects, offensive language and very mature topics. Recommended for age 18 and over.

OUR 5 STAR REVIEWS

 Shanda:

5 " I am in love with AK" stars

Damanable Grace is the story of AK; the Hangmen Sgt. At Arms and Phebe; the half-sister to Lilah. If you recall when the Hangmen took The Order down AK had a brief encounter with Phebe. It was a moment of connection and although he can’t define it he can’t get Phebe out of his head. He will stop at nothing until he finds her and brings her home to Lilah. Phebe is currently living in her own hell. Meister has taken her captive and he is beyond brutal. Even being raised to be a whore by the order didn’t prepare her for what was to come.

I won’t waste your time giving you a long re-cap of the book. If you are fan of the Hangmen series, you are going to love this. If you haven’t read this series, you shouldn’t be starting at book five anyway. LOL!

I will say that this is my favorite Hangmen book to date. AK is just my kind of hero; and that’s what AK is…..a hero. He made me swoon and he made me cry. AK is a fixer. He wants to help and save the people he cares about. This is in part due to his past and it is also just who he is. Even though I believe he sets out to help Phebe as an act of redemption he deep down recognizes himself in her and that is how they connect. This is what make them amazing together.

I loved Phebe too. The best way I can describe her is she is a fighter; more of a fighter than I would be in her shoes. I know for most people what she has been through would bring them to their knees and they would never recover. And believe me she has her moments of despair and I don't blame her. Although AK being there helps her I do believe she had an inner strength to her. In my opinion she is quite different from the other sisters you have met in the series so far.

If you are a Flame lover, you are going to be thrilled because you will get lots of Flame in this book. I adored the Psycho trio and that damn Vike cracks me the f*&% up. You will also get lots of Lil’ Ash and I squeeed big time with the developments in his story.

I don’t know how Tillie does it but her books just get better and better and I can’t wait for the next ride she takes us on.

Iza:

This book.

It's gruesome.

It's bittersweet.

It's heart-breaking.

It's beautiful and it's ugly. So ugly.

Really not for the faint of heart. I cried at a few scenes and if you do decide to read this book, I'm pretty sure you will too. You can't help it.

I don't want to give anything away, just thought I should tell fellow Hades Hangmen lovers that the series is still going strong, with broken characters that manage to find a HEA - or the beginning of one. I loved seeing the glimpses with the other characters and am dying to know what's next! After the novella with Styx and Mae, of course!

So, if you love this series, you definitely have to read Damnable Grace. If this is the first time you've heard of the Hades Hangmen, you should consider reading book one.

If you're a fan of this series, I think you'll love this story. And, if you're a fan of this series, you'll know that it goes dark sometimes and this book is no exception; we're still getting some of those "cult-like" vibes, although this time it's coming from Meister.

AK has been a character I've been wanting to know more about for a while. He's got demons that he's working hard to keep at bay, although maybe not as successfully as he would like. I loved that we saw more of his connection with Flame, and how that came about. And I loved that for as quiet and withdrawn as Flame can be, he really stepped up to help his friend when it was warranted.

Phebe.....poor woman has had it really rough. She's considered a "Fisher", a woman from the Commune who lured men in and brought them back to the Commune. She truly believed in the cult's purpose and prophecies, up to a certain point....and then her eyes were opened wide and she struggled with her role in that.

AK and Phebe together were great; they help each other to heal and move forward. Again, I loved getting glimpses of our previous couples, Styx & Maddie, Ky & Lilah, Flame & Maddie, not to mention Lil Ash, and some new characters that I can't wait for Tillie Cole to develop into more. The set up for the book is there, and I can't wait to see where the Hangmen take us next.
