Camila was seventeen when Van Quiso kidnapped her. Ten years after her escape, the shackles refuse to release her. Not while there are still slave traders preying on her city.
She will stop at nothing to end them.
Even if that means becoming a slave again.
Returning to chains is her worst fear—and only option. They won’t know who she is or what she intends to do. She’s prepared for every complication.
Except him.
The one who decimated her sixteen-year-old heart.
Matias is charming, gorgeous, and dangerously seductive. He’s also untrustworthy and enshrouded in secrets. After years of no contact, he finds her—on her knees, wrists bound, in the clutches of her enemy.
Will he sabotage her mission by needlessly saving her?
Or will he keep her in chains and never let her go?

If you aren't reading this series yet, why not?
The release of Disclaim is so exciting for Angie and I. Angie loved Deliver and hounded me about reading it back when it released. I kept putting it off because I don't read many dark books. Not out of fear but because dark reads weren't appealing to me. I should have listened to my reading buddy sooner because she was right and I was very, very, wrong! I finally read Deliver and was blown away. It takes a lot to wow me or surprise me but I think Godwin is the Queen of the big twist. Then Vanquish released and I was in a daze for a while after reading it. Van Quiso is hands down one of the best anti-heroes ever and his heroine Amber was amazing. Now with the release of Disclaim we were on pins and needles waiting for a chance to read it. Disclaim is a wonderful addition to this world Pam Godwin has created. If you love second-chance love stories Camila and Matias will leave you satisfied. As with all books in this series the twists and turns keep coming and the possibilities for more books are endless. If you love dark romance that keeps you guessing and is superbly written you need to be reading this series. Congrats to Pam Godwin on release day!! We are already anxious to see what you have up your sleeve next.

Disclaim can be read as a standalone but this review contains a few spoilers from Deliver, so beware. This is the story of Matias and Camila; two people that fell in love as kids and now are about to cross paths again after their horrific separation.
Camila is one of the slaves that Van and Liv released. She is now part of the group of ex-slaves (now freedom fighters) that share a burning passion to end human trafficking. She has been tracking an operation in Austin and is getting desperate to take them down. To do this she wants to go undercover to end them. Camila has no idea that her plan is going to reunite her with her long lost love.
Matias believed for a time that Camila was dead. This destroyed him and he basically went on a rampage seeking his revenge. The things done to him, the secrets he keeps, and the things he has done have changed him and made him darker. But after he discovers Camila is alive he meticulously plans his reunion with her and he wants it on his terms.
I won’t say more about the story because this series is best read without spoilers so the reveals are more exciting. I did figure out Matias pretty early on but not the big reveal, and I have to say it was pretty damn awesome. My only complaint was that I kind of wish Matias had shared a few secrets a bit earlier. I kept feeling like Camila was going to mess everything up because she was hot headed and focused on her end game. In the end I understood Matias’s reasoning because of his end game with Camila but I would have liked some of this a bit earlier so it didn’t feel so confusing.
I think Disclaim is a great addition to the Deliver series but Vanquish is still firmly sitting on my top 5 all-time favorites list. I am selfishly kind of glad of this just because that book was EVERYTHING and Van Quiso is a crazy awesome anti-hero. It was great to re-visit Van and Amber and I feel a re-read coming on. That being said I can’t wait to see what this author brings us next. I had assumed we might be getting books for all of Van and Liv’s former slaves but Ms. Godwin did a great job of opening up another aspect of this world and more characters for me to want. I am really intrigued by Frizz ( the visual for him alone was amazing )and I wouldn’t be mad at story for Nico or Tate. Disclaim took a fabulous turn in the Deliver world and as always Pam Godwin does twists and turns like no other. It goes without saying that I will be anxiously awaiting the next release.

Camila is one of Van and Liv's slaves that they released. She's now part of their group that takes down slave traders in the Austin area. But before she was taken she was in love with Matias. For a year Matias did unspeakable things searching for her. Then she called him. Ten years later she still calls when she needs a favor but after what they both went through neither of them were ready to see each other. Now Matias is ready.
I won't say much else about the plot. I will say that I thought Camila's plan was crazy and risky and, honestly, I thought she played it terribly. She should be thankful other factors were at play. Matias is so full of secrets that I almost felt like Godwin should have let the reader in on a few of them. There were times I was so confused. But then the reveal blew me away. So I suggest if, like me, you start to feel lost just keep reading. But then the reveals kept coming. So much that it started to feel over the top.
My few issues in no way hurt what a good read this still was. I was hooked. I mean it doesn't hold a candle to Vanquish (almost impossible) but I still enjoyed it. And there's a hint that there will be more to the series. (Frizz please for book five!) I certainly hope so. Well done.
