RELEASE BLITZ & REVIEWS - KNOTTED by Pam Godwin

It's LIVE!

KNOTTED, Book #1 in the TRAILS OF SIN series

Genre: Dark Cowboy Romance Series: HEAs with no cliffhangers. Each book is a different couple. Must be read in order.
I try to forget her. It’s impossible.
Growing up together, Conor and I shared all our firsts. First love, first kiss, first… Not all our firsts.
We were sixteen the night she was violently assaulted while I helplessly watched. I’ll never forget the sounds of her suffering. Or my inconsolable agony when she left Oklahoma.
Years later, she returns to honor our teenage pact. Except the boy she loved is gone, replaced by a ruthless cattle rancher knotted with secrets. She doesn’t know my dark cravings or the trails of sin that lead to her.
I don’t deserve her, but one truth remains. She’s mine.

SHANDA

The beginning of Knotted hooked me right away. It started out super strong and I was excited to see where the story was going. I felt for Conor right away. I was angry for her. Conor goes through something truly horrific and then is abandoned by everyone she loves. I wanted her to raise hell and make everyone around her suffer a bit. In the end, I think her anger just fizzled out. I didn’t want a man to fix her and I felt that happened with Jake.

I am not sure I was sold on Jake and his “preferences”. Perhaps this is because the reader could not explore them with him in a traditional sense. The events right at the beginning of the book took me out of that space with Jake. In the end I don’t feel like I got to know Jake. I also did not buy into his “therapy” sessions with Conor. I know this is fiction but it just seemed somewhat farfetched that he learned how to be a therapist on his own.

I know I have high expectations going into a Pam Godwin book. I am always a bit sad when I can’t connect or five star it. Despite this not being my favorite it was still hard to put down. The bones of the story were still really good. I will definitely be picking up the next book in the series. I am intrigued by Maybe and Jarret and I think Lorne is going to have an interesting story to tell.

AMY

This book started out very strong, and then it just went kind of flat in the end. I liked Conor's strength, but sometimes it seemed a lot more bravado than anything. I liked Jake overall, but his proclivities didn't really seem to come through in a way that was realistic. Also unrealistic was Jake's "therapy" sessions with Conor. Although I see he's coming from a place of care and concern, it just didn't work for me. I'm a bit baffled by how Jake and his brother were able to "fix" all the problems that drove Conor away.
All that being said, I still enjoyed most of the book. I'm definitely intrigued enough to keep on reading for Jarrett and eventually, Lorne's story.
