The Secret Series by Jessica Sorensen

I don't know about you gals, but I LOVE me some Jessica Sorensen.
From her Fallen star series, Death collectors series, Callie and Kayden, and The Secret series  (these are ones I have read, she has more). Her range is so expansive and i love that she can genre jump, and hold a place of her own in each.

I want to talk about her Ella and Micha series, being that i am reading the ARC for The Temptation of Lila and Ethan.

Let's talk about Ella first. Ella is a small town girl who ran  off to a big city college to try and escape the memory of a tragedy. Here she meets her friend, and roommate, Lila. Both girls are COMPLETE opposites. While Ella plays off the "good" girl at school, she is actually a wild child with a sad streak, while Lila is perky and friendly, but this works out for them, like they say opposites attract.

Micha, is the tatted bad boy who loves to race cars and play his guitar. He and Ella were childhood friends and neighbors with a long history. Micha's best friend is Ethan, cool, down to Earth, party going type of guy who loves to fix cars.

Enter summer break, and Ella has nowhere to go. So she and Lila head back to her hometown and check on her father, who hasn't been doing very well since said tragedy.
Ella is afraid that Micha will try and charm his way back into her life, even though she is pretending now to not want to come back to this life she left behind. Of course when Micha finds her back, he is bound and determined to get her back.

Book 2, The Forever of Ella and Micha,  takes you further into their relationship and the trials and tribulations for them to keep it together, while being far apart. With his signing a contract for a band and touring and her back in school, they need to figure out if they are strong enough to stay together during it all.

During both books there are little tidbits of Lila and Ethan. This third book, The Temptation of Lila and Ethan is their stories. It is about Lila and Ethan's past and the paths that lead them to now.

I can honestly say I would love to smack Lila's father and throw my kindle across the room. That man is heartless and so business driven, he can't see anything, such as love and family, in front of him. Her mother is so caught up in her vanity it makes you want to vomit.  How she acts towards Lila after a horrific tragedy is stomach churning, and the way she has her deal with the issue? UNTHINKABLE! And Lila's poor sister?
Why a couple like this has children is well beyond me, and how Lila is turning out is a miracle.

There is so much emotion and depth packed in this story and you get to go on a journey through both Lila and Ethan' s perspective. Both have soul crushing journeys that make you feel...well, they just make you feel. I don't think I could love any characters more. I will seriously be thinking about this book for days!!!

and in the end , we are left with a cliffhanger for the ever after of Ella and Micha. Which will be more sweet torture :)
