Author: Asa Maria Bradley
Series: Viking Warriors
Release Date: November 3rd 2015
Synopsis
Immortal Vikings are among us.
Leif Skarsganger and his elite band of immortal warriors have been charged to protect humanity from the evil Norse god Loki.
Under attack from Loki’s minions, Leif is shocked to encounter a dark-haired beauty who fights like a warrior herself. Wounded and feverish, the Viking kisses her, inadvertently triggering an ancient Norse bond. But when Naya Brisbane breaks away and disappears before the bond is completed, Leif’s warrior spirit goes berserk. If Leif doesn’t find her fast, he’s going to lose himself to permanent battle fury.
But Naya doesn’t want to be found...and he’ll do anything to find her. Because they’re both running out of time.

Paranormal romance, you say? Vikings, you say? Well, I say: SIGN ME UP!
I'm a huge Greek and Norse mythology fan; fave series/books of mine are PNR + mythological. That is a major win, in my book!
So, imagine my happiness when I stumbled upon this book. Viking usually also means big, bad and blonde, my [un]holy trinity, really.
The heroine is kick-ass, let me just start with that. Another win! I don't like weak, spineless heroines and I don't understand today's fascination with them in literature. Give me a badass girl that can fight her own battles and doesn't require a guy to be happy. Of course, since this is a romance novel, after all, the hero is kind of needed, haha. But not because she's helpless without him, but because they are stronger together, they complete each other - not in a corny way, either.
There's a little back-and-forth, a little 'I-don't-want-a-mate', but they get over it pretty quickly, so it's not drawn out until the last page. Win, again. The story, itself, pulls you in and you get to like the characters and root for them. It was quite a surprise, so kudos, Ms. Bradley!
4 - 4.5 stars, a good start to a new series, and I am definitely looking forward to reading more. Copy was given through Netgalley in exchange for my honest review. Thank you.
