♔ ♕ Elicit~Rachel Van Dyken ♚ ♛

Elicit by Rachel Van Dyken

Cursed, numb, rejected, scorned, wicked, sinister, dark, twisted...my name is Tex Campisi and this is my legacy. I killed my father in cold blood and lost my soul right along with him.
I crave war more than peace, and I'm about to take my place in history as the youngest Capo dei Capi in the Cosa Nostra...that is until someone stops me, saves me from myself.

But the only person able to do that...is my best friends sister, Mo Abandanato, and she just ripped my heart out and asked me to hold it in my hands while she put bullets through it.

Im cursed so I did it.
I'm numb so I held it.
I'm wicked so I liked it.
I used the pain Mo caused as a catalyst to turn into my biggest nightmare--the five families greatest enemy. It's my turn to take a stand, knowing full well I'm going to lose my mind to the madness that is the American Mafia. I've always been told Blood is thicker than life. I wish I would have listened. Because regardless of who you love? You will betray. You will kill.
Blood Always Wins.
The only way out is death...yours.

Welcome to the Dark Side of the Family

{About the Author}

When I was little–I was forced to be the evil step mother, the prince, the ugly stepsister, the dragon with dragon breath (FOR REAL), if there was a villain, I played it.
So really, we can all blame my sister for forcing me to write my own stories. If she hadn’t made me the wicked witch of the West when I was little–I may not be where I am today ;)
I write in every genre, but my passion is New Adult and Historical Romance! I’ve decided that the New Adult bad boy is basically the same thing as a regency rake and one day I will, I WILL write a time travel series that brings both worlds together. It will probably only sell one copy, and that one copy will be bought by my Grandma, but still. A girl can dream ;)
I love wine.
Sunshine.
Butterflies (only the pretty ones, dont judge me)
Coffee
Tattoos
Skipping in the rain
jumping in puddles
Talking to fans
Watching Christmas movies
And Traveling

I’m a hybrid author…so I’m both traditionally published and self published. Sometimes I think i’m crazy because I talk to my characters like they’re real, which, in my head, they are.
I LOVE talking to readers so please hit me up on social media and we can have a nice long chat on why romance novels should take over the world and why the Seahawks deserve to go to the Superbowl.
In 2011 I had my first book published. I cried, jumped up and down, and called everyone I knew!
I can only say I wake up wanting to do nothing but fall to my knees in thanks to God for his many blessings.
I was told one time by a very wise person to sit and think about your childhood. About the dreams that you had, the fantasies you wanted to come to life…by digging in your past it’s often found that you can decide what your destiny is.
I was a prince, a toad, a monster, the evil step-mother, and sometimes the slave girl waiting to be rescued.
So now, I’m an author.

Sounds about right…
I love to hear from readers!

This book absolutely hurt my heart, numerous times. Don't get me wrong, its a brilliant story.
There are about 5 major plot twists that will have you jaw dropping saying no,no,no!!!
It was definitely a wild emotional roller coaster ride.

"After all, I was a Campisi; we freaking breed mayhem."

"Is he good, is he bad?"
You'll be asking yourself that through the entire book.
Good things come to those who read the story ;)

I will say I was super upset about a certain event. It was such a shocker for me that I literally almost threw my kindle and stopped reading, but I owed Tex and Mo my full attention.

I later, had to write a poem to Ms. Rachel to try and get over my emotions.
*clears throat* It goes as follows:

I have never felt that much over a book.
I understand it had to be done, but ...but.... I wish I could go on, but alas, I'm not allowed to spoil anything.

I want to be Mo when I grow up. She is a kick ass character among most of the woman in this series. She's strong and self assured and loyal as hell, she knows what is important to her, family...

" oh you know, life of a Mafia princess, lots of drama and broken crowns."

Tex, the sexy fucker, is sarcastic and smart as ever, but with A LOT more edge.

A war was coming.
And he was the target.
He just didn't know it yet

We really see his character grow in this book, and in the end we see him on his knees, showing TRUE emotion. That, I think, was my favorite part....

*psssst* Guess what? There's a BONUS NOVELLA!!!! Nixon and Tracy, Enamored <3! RVD is so good to us!!

Now quit reading this and go get you some Tex and Mo...and lots of Kleenex...and maybe some Xanax ;)

I give this book
