Synopsis

 Kate McCarthy grew up in a small town outside of Port Macquarie, Australia. Raised in a house just a short walk to the beach, Kate enjoyed the peaceful, relaxed atmosphere and friendships that come from being raised in a friendly, small town area.
She now resides in Brisbane, Australia, a city in the state of Queensland where she works as an accountant, along with a sideline wedding cake business and her writing.
She is married with two children, has two dogs and house in the suburbs, and a pile of friends and family dotted all over the country that help keep her sane.

"Because one day you'll belong to me, Evie, and I'll know everything about you."

How do you keep your heart safe, how do you keep from getting hurt by a guy? Easy. You date the guy that is, in no certain way, your type. If you're into bad boys, you date the boring, safe ones. 
That's what Evie Jamieson does. She's learned her lesson and has been dating the geeks, nerds, boring and safe ones because there was no way she was getting hurt by them. And it was, indeed, true. But then she meets her best friend Mac's, brother - one of them - and she knows from the first glance that Jared's trouble with a capital T and she could easily fall for him, so she does what she knows best. Keeps as far away from him as she can. Of course it doesn't work that way, especially when Mac is trying her damnedest to bring them together. But Evie agrees to be friends with Jared and this works for a while. Everything changes when, for the good of the band, they all move to Sydney. All bets are off then and Jared makes it pretty clear he wants Evie.
Now, let me tell you, these Valentines... These guys are frustratingly hot and badass. They're tough. Oh and not only the Valentines, but Coby Jamieson, Evie's brother and Casey Daniels too. The latter actually flipped over a few times with his car and walked away, unscathed. Badass. 

They don't make it easy on their women and us readers. You can't help it. You fall and you fall hard. For one, for all. 
It doesn't really matter.
I was hooked, from the very beginning, until the end of it. I laughed, chuckled, snorted, sat on the edge of my seat, wanted to bang my head into the desk - Jared can be awfully frustrating but I get him, I do - and then melted. And of course I wanted more when I was done reading.
The magic, the sparkle between the book, story, characters and I was still there, even at the second reading of it. 

5 stars for a favorite book, favorite series. Be sure to read it, then immediately dive into Give Me Strength - Travis Valentine is the hero, my baby - and then Give Me Grace - Casey Daniels will steal your heart and won't give it back.
