LIVE! Slit by Miss Merikan

 JANUARY 8TH, 2016

--- Split between a lust for life and a craving for death ---

Astaroth. Motorcycle club president’s daughter. Virgin. Occultist.
Hunter. Outlaw biker. Loves a challenge. Ex-Christian.

Hunter knew he was in deep shit when a patchover went sideways, ending up with his prez dead, and him and his cousin becoming live-in hostages at the Coffin Nails MC clubhouse. What he didn’t know though, was that the girl he fucked just a few days before was the Coffin Nails club president’s daughter, set on having nothing to do with him after a creepy one-night stand in an abandoned church. Tough luck, because Hunter is not a quitter, even if getting involved with the prez's hot daughter could get him killed.

Astaroth is devastated after losing the two people closest to her. Unable to connect with her grieving father, she believes that a ritual described in her late mother’s notes might hold the key to bringing back the balance in her family. During the ceremony, she needs to get pregnant by the demon she summons, but why does he have to appear in the form of a handsome, long-haired, asshole of a biker, who just doesn’t know when to give up? She never intended to see him again, but there he is, a new member of her dad’s club.
And worst of all, the other man who appeared that fateful night, Hunter’s cousin, is also up for seconds.

Astaroth was supposed to die in nine months, but instead, she is only beginning to feel truly alive for the first time. But no matter what she feels for the man who crashed into her life so unexpectedly, if she ever wants her family to be whole again, she needs to finish what she started.

Split: Coffin Nails MC (Sex & Mayhem #7)Split: Coffin Nails MC by Miss Merikan
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Sex and Mayhem is right. That couldn't be a more perfect title to this series, and Asty's story is no different. I want to also give props to this cover. They couldn't have gotten a better model. Perfection.

I read online they, Kat and Agnes, got most of this idea walking through a Polish forest. They should do that more often, because this is seriously some of their best in the series. It's also my first het book I've read by this author. Normally its kind of hard for me to fall into a het after so much MM, but I immediately connected with Asty and her story, I didn't want to put it down.

Asty, daughter of Detroit Chapter prez of the Coffin Nails MC, is a demon worshiping 19 y.o. who believes death is following her. Before her mother's life is taken by cancer, she's written down in notebooks a ritual she "wants" Asty to perform for the sake of the family. Going on this journey with her is something I've never read in a book before. It's intriguing to see this side of religion. It's also eye opening to see both sides, and when Hunter comes into the picture, we get just that.

Hunter, abandoned by his Christian parents for not conforming to their beliefs. Taken in by his uncle, The Rabid Hogs MC prez. When things go south and he and his cousin are to fold into the Coffin Nails MC, they get an unexpected surprise on their way there.

Their meeting was very, uh, strange to say the least, but I think that's what makes this story so unique and kind of magical. Most definitely unconventional, and that's what makes this a Merikan book.

Both Asty and Hunter have these exteriors and expectations of what others think of them, but inside both have a sensitivity to them. They're alike in so many ways, with each of their mothers being fanatics of their religions, even if their on opposite ends of the spectrum. It makes their chemistry that much hotter and more connected, being able to be themselves together. It's such an intimate thing and a joy to read.

"Unable to part, as if his body were a magnet and attracted the cool steel of her heart"

Let's talk about the hotness level..its definitely a 5. These ladies paint a picture with their words that will leave you fanning your face grabbing for a cool drink of water!!

I loved everything about this book. The originality of the story, the characters good and bad, they give good villainary. I do believe you can jump right into this book without having read any of the other books, though I highly encourage you try them, I don't feel you would be lost.

I absolutely cannot wait for Grim's book... maybe we'll get 2 weddings??? hmmm....
((P.S. Grim isn't mentioned in this book, but its next and it will be glorious #eggplant #GrimisComing))

About the Author(s)

Miss Merikan is the pen name for Kat and Agnes Merikan, a team of writers, who are mistaken for sisters with surprising regularity. Kat’s the mean sergeant and survival specialist of the duo, never hesitating to kick Agnes’s ass when she’s slacking off. Her memory works like an easy-access catalogue, which allows her to keep up with both book details and social media. Also works as the emergency GPS. Agnes is the Merikan nitpicker, usually found busy with formatting and research. Her attention tends to be scattered, and despite pushing thirty, she needs to apply makeup to buy alcohol. Self-proclaimed queen of the roads.

They love the weird and wonderful, stepping out of the box, and bending stereotypes both in life and books. When you pick up a Merikan book, there’s one thing you can be sure of - it will be full of surprises.

Trivia:

- We are Polish,
- We're neither sisters nor a couple,
- Kat's an artist, and Agnes is a psychologist but neither works in her field,
- Kat's fingers are two times longer than Agnes's.
