Your wedding day is supposed to be the happiest day of your life, right? That’s what they say, at least. I went into that day hoping I’d get the happiest day of my life. What I got? The worst. I mean, you really can’t get any worse of a day without someone actually dying.

So…I may have gotten just a little drunk, and maybe just a tad impetuous…

And landed myself in a dive bar somewhere in Alaska, alone, still in my wedding dress, half-wasted and heart-broken.

Eight brothers, one bar.

Sounds like the beginning to a bad joke, yeah?

I kinda think so.

Wanna hear another joke? A girl walks into a bar, soaking wet and wearing a wedding dress.

I knew I shouldn’t have touched her. She was hammered, for one thing, and heartbroken for another. I’ve chased enough tail to know better. That kinda thing only leads to clinginess, and a clingy female is the last thing on this earth I need.

I got a bar needs running, and only me to run it—at least until my seven wayward brothers decide to show their asses up…

Then this chick walks in, fine as hell, wearing a soaked wedding dress that leaves little enough to the imagination—and I’ve got a hell of an imagination.
I knew I shouldn’t have touched her. Not so much as a finger, not even innocently.

But I did.

Shanda's Review

This was a fun start to a new series! I thought it was funny and as you can expect from Jasinda Wilder; downright dirty.

The story starts with Dru catching her finance cheating on her wedding day. In her anger and hurt she decides to run for it and jumps on a plane not knowing the destination. She ends up in Alaska and lands in a dive bar run by Sebastian. These two are instantly attracted to each other but Dru is struggling to figure out what to do next and dealing with her anger. Muddling her decision making is Bast who is coming on strong trying to get her in bed.

These two were pretty funny and hot together. I did find Dru to be a bit annoying because her mind was all over the place and she was exhausting to keep up with. But the longer she stays she realizes that she feels at home and she learns Sebastian might be what she needs. Bast is definitely a caveman but he was also a softy and he starts to see how lonely he has been. Bast is dealing with the death of his father and he learns that in order to get access to the estate he has to satisfy certain requirements of the will. This leads to the arrival of his 7 brothers which makes their living situation more crowded but comical.

Amy's Review

I liked the lead in for Zane’s book but it ran a bit long and took away from Dru and Bast. I would have liked a bit more in the epi for them because their ending felt a bit rushed. I will definitely be reading the next book. All the brothers seem to be unique and I am sure their stories will be fun.

Dru flees Seattle after catching her fiance having sex with someone else on their wedding day, at the church no less! She catches the first flight she can, which lands her in Ketchikan, Alaska. She stumbles into Badd's Bar & Grill, and meets Sebastian Badd. Their attraction is immediate and overwhelming for both of them, but they don't act on it....well, not on the first night, anyway.

Dru sees through Bast's gruff exterior to the guy beneath. Dru's only real problem is that she's in her head too much and it's a bit distracting for me. She quickly realizes that what she had with her cheating fiance wasn't what it should have been; and in fact, it had gone quite stale.

Bast is grieving the death of his father and is barely keeping things afloat at the family bar. All seven (yes, seven!) of his brothers have abandoned him as they came of age, leaving him to deal with the family business. Bast has never had the chance to pursue his dreams, nor to mourn his parents deaths (Mom's 10 years ago; and dad's just a few months earlier). When his father's will is read, Bast is surprised by the clauses his father put in place and it causes all of his brothers to return to Alaska. Bast is kind of an idiot when it comes to Dru; he almost lets her get away by acting like a complete ass. Luckily, one of his brothers calls Bast on his bullshit and he's able to clear the air with Dru before she can get away.

I enjoyed this story and I will definitely keep reading them as I want to know more about the other brothers. That being said, I was a bit disappointed in the epilogue; it focused too much on the next story and took a little bit away from Dru & Bast.
