"All-consuming, deep, seductive, so damn emotional—this book is everything I expect from Jewel E. Ann.”

Look the Part, an all-new “emotional and breathtaking” standalone from

Jewel E. Ann is LIVE!

LookThePart Full.jpg
Flint Hopkins finds the perfect tenant to rent the space above his Minneapolis-based law office.
All the T’s are crossed and I’s dotted on Ellen’s application. Her references are good. And she’s easy on the eyes.
Until …
Flint discovers Ellen Rodgers, Board-Certified Music Therapist, plays music. Bongos, guitars, singing—not Beethoven administered through noise-cancelling headphones.
The cut-throat attorney serves up an eviction notice to the bubbly, constantly-humming redhead who's too sexy for her own good. But luck is on Ellen’s side when Flint’s autistic son, Harrison, takes an instant liking to her. A single dad can’t compete with guitars—and rats. Yes, she has pet rats.
This woman …
She’s annoyingly happy with a constant need to touch him—adjust his tie, button his shirt, invade his space, and mess with his mind.
Still …
She must go.
Their lust-hate relationship escalates into something beautiful and tragic. This sexy, romantic-comedy explores the things we want, the things we need, and the impossible decisions parents and children make to survive.

Shanda - 5 “ROMANCE at it’s best” stars

“Sex in a Suit” Flint Hopkins has just leased office space to the sexy and frustrating Ellen Rodgers. Much to Flint’s annoyance (and lack of observation before he signed the contract HA!) Ellen is a music therapist. Loud music is messing with Flint’s days practicing law and driving him insane. Plus, Ellen cannot keep her hands off Flint. The woman can’t have a conversation with Flint without touching him, getting in his personal space, or adjusting his suits. Her flirtations are wreaking havoc on him. To make matters worse Flint’s son Harrison has taking a liking to Ellen and her pet RATS making it harder for Flint to evict her.

Look the Part is witty banter at its best. I could not keep a smile off of my face with every word spoken between these two. Despite the laughs and funny banter, Ellen and Flint are both dealing with pain from their pasts. They both desperately want to take a leap but is it really the best time for them to be together? Ending things is easier said than done. Events beyond their control force them to take a hard look at where they are going.

As with all of Ms. Ann's heroines I loved Ellen. She is feisty and funny and just what Flint needed. Flint was a man resigned to paying penance the rest of his life but he truly is a good man. He made me laugh and cry. I especially loved how hard he tried when it came to Harrison. He also made me swoon pretty damn hard that last 30% of the book. Thank you so much Jewel Ann for writing Flint’s story. I knew as soon as he hit the page in ONE that I had to have his story. I love a tortured soul and this story paid off for me, BIG TIME.

Flint Hopkins is existing through a life of regret and responsibility. The prologue sets the book up nicely so we understand exactly why he feels this way. What Flint never expected was to feel alive again, especially with his pesky music therapy tenant, Ellen Rodgers.

Ellen quite literally can't keep her hands off of Flint. She loves to touch him, adjusting his suit whenever he's in close proximity. Elle throws Flint off kilter and he's really not sure how to respond to her, or what he's feeling for her. Flint's son Harrison takes an immediate liking to Elle, her music and her rat babies.

When circumstances draw Elle and Flint apart amid their fledgling romance, they must decide whether it's time to sink or swim. Flint really surprised me with his declaration towards Elle at this point; he's really showing her how much he cares for her, despite their circumstances and their separation. The last 25% really had me smiling quite a bit. Overall, a really well-done story.

Release Blitz - Savages (Badlands Book 1) by Natalie Bennett

Title: Savages
Series: Badlands, Book One
Author: Natalie Bennett
Genre: Dark Erotic Romance
Release Date: January 25, 2018
"I am the monster they created. I’m the whore they’re ashamed of."
When life tried to break me I grabbed that b*tch by the throat and squeezed.
I thought I could overcome anything. I swore I could handle him, but after being forced to play at the Devil's playground I ended up craving his touch.
One taste of his poison made my loyalties begin to waiver.
"I’m a living nightmare, I’m everything they fear."
I’ve been called the Devil, deranged, and a savage. I lived by a code created by rebel souls. We were sinners and thieves that made no apologies for taking whatever the f*ck we wanted. Saving a girl in the woods was never part of my plans, but when I saw the crazy in her eyes I knew it was a match made in hell.
Now secrets are piling up, the bodies are rotting, and time is running out to finish what I started.
Forewarning, our story is more than a little f*cked up.
Authors Note:
I am not going to put a long 'trigger warning' on this book. I will say that Savages is a VERY cautionary tale that has no regard for hard limits. Reader discretion IS highly advised. <--18+

This is by no means a romance, if you’re looking for a love story; this book is not for you.
You have been warned.
This is a brutal and violent tale where the twists are plentiful in this little slice of darkness from Natalie Bennett.
Romero is dark and damaged.  Calista is raw and broken.  Together they are the perfect storm, filled with insanity, rage, and vengeance.
“Even the devil needs love…” What an understatement when it comes to the “love story” of two individuals who were dealt shit hands in the game of life and are now complete as the perfect psychopath.
Boundaries will be pushed, there will be pleasure, there will be pain, there will be revenge, and there most definitely will be blood…more blood than you could ever imagine.
Even with a cliffy, this story was amazing.  Natalie pulls me and won’t let me go till she’s satisfied that I’m huddled in a corner rocking back and forth, jumping at any and every noise I hear.  She loves the involuntary shivers that come when I flash back to the darkness that pours out of her sick and twisted mind in the form of beautifully dark words on a page.

Midnight Blue, an all-new sexy standalone from LJ Shen is LIVE!

Midnight Blue

Author: LJ Shen

Release Date: January 18th

It should have been easy.
I needed the money. He needed a babysitter to keep him from snorting himself to death.
I was cherry-picked especially for him. Responsible. Optimistic. Warm. Innocent.
The worst part is that I should have known better.
Alex Winslow. British rock star. Serial heartbreaker. Casanova with whiskey eyes.
“Don’t get near the devil in a leather jacket. He’ll chew you up and spit you out.”
Sounds familiar? That’s because it was a headline in a tabloid the second time he got arrested.
Guess what? I didn’t listen.
I signed the contract.
World tour. Three months. Four Continents. One hundred shows.
My name is Indigo Bellamy, and I sold my soul to a tattooed god.
Problem was, my soul wasn’t enough for Alex Winslow. He ended up taking my body, too.
Then he took my heart.
Then he took my all.

5 STARS *****

My dear Miss Shen, you’ve done it again!
Midnight Blue joins the Sinners of Saint series as some of the very best reading I’ve enjoyed in the past year. I’ve nudged L.J. Shen up onto a pedestal, and she looks fabulous up there!
You want an alpha rock star? Say hello to Alex Winslow, but he may just sneer at you in return. He’s got angst, he’s got a hard party history, he’s the personification of “entitlement”. But he’s a hot, filthy-mouthed British rock star, so I forgive!
Our man has been rocked by Indigo/Indie Bellamy, the hired-gun handler (this grown man needs a hanny – hot nanny) who is charged with keeping Alex in check on his world tour. She’s got maturity beyond her years, an enviable vintage-style wardrobe, and a single-minded mission to make that bank and save her family. So, she’s pretty much Alex’s opposite. Let the show begin!
All the side characters had their meaningful places in the story, helpful and hurtful, dramatic and gut wrenching. This is where you see much of the excellence of Shen’s writing, the way she weaves all the threads of stories within stories to give us a rock star romance that trounces the trope right on its bloody bum!
This is no easy-going romance, though. Alex and Indie experience jealousy, lies, friend failures, and loads of sexual tension. In between it all, the rock star world feels authentic and as if we are peeking around the black velvet curtain. It was a slow burn to fall for Alex, but I did fall. So did Indie, and my heart was with her all the way.
I do love a rockin’ romance, and this book delivers page after page of the goods. Loads of unexpected goods and heartbreaking goods are packed in there, as well. Midnight Blue is my first 5 star of 2018. Don’t you love closing a book and saying “Oh wow….”? This is that book. Just, wow!

#GIVEAWAY #REVIEW Ryan's Bed by Tijan

Ryan's Bed by Tijan

About the book:
I crawled into Ryan Jensen’s bed that first night by accident.
I barely knew him. I thought it was his sister’s bed—her room. It took seconds to realize my error, and I should’ve left…
I didn’t.
I didn’t jump out.
I didn’t get embarrassed.
I relaxed.
And that night, in that moment, it was the only thing I craved.
I asked to stay. He let me, and I slept.
The truth? I never wanted to leave his bed. If I could’ve stayed forever, I would have.
He became my sanctuary.
Because—four hours earlier—my twin sister killed herself.

It was close to midnight when I texted Ryan. “I’m outside your house.” The driver’s taillights were disappearing when he came out the front door.
“Hey.” Dressed in lounge pants and a soft shirt, he folded his arms over his chest, tucking his hands under his arms. He eyed my small suitcase. “You really came straight from the airport?”
“Was this stupid?” A normal girl might’ve had that thought in her head, my head. There wasn’t enough room for second thoughts in there. I gestured to his house. “Should I go home?”
“No.” He’d hunched over a little, but straightened and shook his head. “No. It’s fine. Seriously.” He went back to eyeing my luggage. “I thought you were joking about the airport. I could’ve picked you up.”
“Oh.” That meant a lot. “No, this is fine. Simple. No fuss. That’s how I roll these days.”
He fought back a grin. “Except when we break into my buddy’s house to spend the night, right?”
I laughed. “Except for that.”
“Come on.” He jerked his head toward the house before reaching for my suitcase. “My mom’s got book club tonight, which is aka wine night, and Peach is at Erin’s house.”
“Your dad?” I had to admit it felt nice as I stepped inside, warm and cozy. I hadn’t known how cold I was until then.
Ryan closed the door behind me, locking it. “He’s downstairs watching the baseball game. He DVR-ed it, and trust me, by the time it’s done, he’ll be a full case in. He’ll either sleep down there or head straight to bed. I’ve had friends over before when it’s a baseball night for him, and he had no clue.” He stepped around me, moving quietly. “You want something before heading up?”
I fought back the smile this time. “Going right to it, huh?”
He glanced back, and his eyes darkened. “You know what I mean.”
“I do.” I shook my head. “And I’m good.” My stomach rumbled.
Ryan’s eyebrows rose. “You sure? Your stomach says otherwise.”
Thinking about it, I didn’t know when I’d last eaten.
I ate breakfast Thursday morning. My mom drove me to the airport two hours later. There was a meal offered on the plane, but I didn’t eat it. Gianna’s mom picked me up, and we went to a pizza place. I picked at a slice, but I couldn’t bring myself to chew it and digest it.
Zoe and Gianna had eaten popcorn that night while we watched movies. They’d laughed. I’d curled in a blanket and tried to sleep.
Then this morning, I had orange juice and coffee. That’s right. Zoe and Gianna went to the coffee shop and brought back bagels and lattes. I had one of the lattes. Lunch was licorice for them, which Gianna’s mom didn’t approve of. She made a big salad, and the other two nibbled on it, but they were too full from licorice.
And this afternoon they’d left me.
I hadn’t eaten on the plane again, so it had been almost two days.
I shrugged. “Maybe a drink?”
He clipped his head in a nod. “Got it.” We went upstairs first, and he stowed my luggage in his room before returning to the kitchen. I went into his bathroom, grateful it was attached to his room, and by the time I’d cleaned up and felt a little refreshed, he was back. Carrying two glasses, he had a bag of chips in his mouth.
“Here.” I started to take the bag, but he shook his head and held up one of the glasses. I took that instead, and as soon as I did, he opened his mouth.
The bag of chips fell to the bed and he took a sip from his own glass. “Mmmm…” He winked. “Rum and Coke. Good stuff, right?” He clinked his glass to mine, then settled on his bed, moving back to rest against the wall. The chips went on the stand next to him, along with his drink after a second good sip.
He had a loveseat against the other wall in his room, and I perched there. Crap. This drink was good. I craned my head back, staring at it. “I could down this whole thing in two seconds.”
“So do it.” He opened the chips and popped a couple in his mouth. Grinning at me, he added, “Not to tread where you might not want me, but…I’d think you’d want to pass this year in a drunken haze. I would.”
Yeah. I drank a third of it before leaning back against the couch. “It’s not my style.”
It would’ve been Willow’s though. She would’ve drunk, partied, and become a nympho if I’d been the one…
My throat burned, and I took another long drink. This really was good. Two more sips, and I’d need a refill.
I eyed Ryan over the top. “You’re not the type to take advantage of me?”
He chuckled. “Nah.” He winked. “But I might graze the side of your boob when we’re sleeping later.”
I laughed, and stopped immediately.
The last time I’d laughed, the last time I’d smiled, had been with him—not my old friends, or now ex friends, and not anyone else. Just Ryan.
“Does it get better?” The question was out before I could take it back.
Ryan was quiet, holding my gaze across the room, and then he sighed. “I think it has to, at some point.”
I hoped so.
Pain I didn’t want to feel or acknowledge rose up in my throat. It threatened to choke me, but I sat there. I waited, and it passed. I could breathe again a second later.
I finished my drink.
Ryan scooted forward, handing his glass over. “Here, take mine.”
“It’s yours.”
He shrugged, eating more chips. “I’ll down a beer later, maybe. Trust me. It’s fine.”
I took the glass, feeling his fingers on mine for a moment, and a warm and cozy sensation settled over me. It was the same tingle I’d felt when I stepped into his home. Everything else was flat, black and white, gray, dull, cold, and then I came here. I went to him, and it felt like color was turned on.
I could feel hunger again, thirst again. I remembered it was normal to feel warmth.
Feeling the choking come back up my throat, I turned off my thoughts. Life was easier that way.
“You’re staying here tonight, right?” Ryan asked.
“Hmmm?” My shoulders sagged in relief. Thank you, Distraction.
He gazed around his room. “You’re sleeping here. That’s why you came, right?”
I nodded. “If that’s okay with you?”
A slow and wicked grin spread over his face. His eyes darkened, falling to my lips. “I’m a nice guy and all, but I’m not that nice, and especially lately, so trust me when I say this. You can sleep here any time you want.” His head leaned forward, his eyes almost digging into me. “That offer doesn’t go to anyone except you.”
The back of my neck warmed. I almost felt tongue-tied.
That was the plan.

Ryan’s Bed by Tijan

I’ve been a fan of Tijan’s stories since the first Fallen Crest book, she just has a way of writing YA stories that just feel more grown up, and Ryan’s Bed is no exception.

The story begins exactly where the blurb stops with MacKenzie walking in to find her twin sister, Willow dead in a pool of her own blood on the bathroom floor a day before the twins 18th birthday.  Whilst the parents are trying to deal with the horror of the situation, Mackenzie and her younger brother Robbie are taken to her father’s new business partner’s house and left there for the night.  This situation is made worse by the fact that Mackenzie’s family have just re-located for her father’s new job and she does not know this family.  Mackenzie during the night on the way back from getting a drink of water walks in to the wrong bedroom and gets into Ryan’s bed instead of his sister's Peach.

Now this wouldn’t be a Tijan book if Mackenzie didn’t have to deal with trying to fit in at a new school, trying to make friends and the backlash from the school’s hierarchy of popular girls & bullies.  This is made worse as Ryan happens to be THAT boy at school the one who all the girls want and all the guys want to be.  Ryan is a great character, I'd even go to say he's up there with Mason for me, the protectiveness, understanding & love he has for Mackenzie literally flows through the pages.   I think it could have benefitted from having some of Ryan’s POV included as this is written all from Mackenzie’s view & at times with all her inner monologue it was tough to be just in her head.

Ryan’s Bed is a standalone and covers the subject of teen suicide, the reasons why and also the impact it has on everyone left behind.  I think Tijan did a good job with a delicate subject matter and this book definitely takes you on a rollercoaster of the whole spectrum of feelings anger, heartbreak, sadness and love.

There is a “punch to the gut” end to the book that will have you reeling! So avoid any spoiler reviews!!!
