Synopsis

I still have the dreams, baby. Do you? In mine, I plead and wait for your touch to come like it always did. But it never does. I strain against the iron, but you’re no longer there in the shadows. I’m alone. One single shard of deep dark hope was enough back then. Not now. My claws, your fangs have sunk deep. Follow my trail of blood, my trail of anger, desolation. Am I the same man? Soul dark, Heart dense, Blood fierce, Purpose raw. Flame burning. Unrelenting. Brewed on vengeance, laced with tenderness, my fury for you.
Chained in brutal darkness, they fell in love. Free in the world, they were torn apart. Empires rise, empires fall, and still, she burns in his soul. But between them now runs a wild river of ambition, greed, and blood. So much blood. He’ll do anything for revenge, and she’ll do anything to protect him. Love and vengeance are the same kind of savage...

Reviews:
Amy's 5-Star Review:
Those of us who have read the Lock & Key series have been anxiously anticipating the release of Fury, the story of Finger and his love.....and I'm fantastically surprised by how much more I loved their story than even I thought I would. We know that their story won't be easy, light or full of rainbows and lollipops; with that said, their story is absolutely beautiful and perfect with every word written.
They meet when Finger (then known just as Kid), is taken hostage by a rival MC...and they don't play nice when they're demands aren't met and thus Finger is born. She helps to care for him while he's held captive and he promises to come back and set her free. He keeps good on him promise, but it isn't easy sailing for them....they're constantly looking over their shoulders and they can't be together nearly as often as they'd like due to the repercussions, if they were caught.

Their story takes some big turns and it doesn't go anywhere you would expect it to. There's joy, there's heartbreak, longing....it's all there for the taking. I can't really say too much without spoiling the book, so I really can't even say all the things I really loved about the story.

This was a beautiful and emotional journey, and I think it's quite fitting to Finger. While I realize this can be read as a stand alone, I think the reader will better enjoy the story if they've read the Lock & Key series beforehand. The stories are interwoven and it's definitely worth the time to read them before this.
Iza's 3.5-Star Review:
I'll try keeping it spoiler-free, so other readers can experience everything I did.

This one wasn't easy to read. The first half or so of the book is dark and, simply put, devastating. You have to heed the warning given by the author, you have to be mentally - and emotionally - prepared for it because it's ugly. So ugly, you're wondering when will it end, when will the clouds part and let a little bit of sun shine through and, most of all, think HOW MANY THINGS CAN THEY ENDURE?

It all starts in the past, where a young Finger meets a young Lenore. We've met both in the Lock & Key series. Especially in Blood & Rust, where we're given hints of a possible connection between Finger, Lenore and Tania.

So, as I was saying, these two meet in the dark - both literally and figuratively. They lean on each other to survive, day by day. I'm not going to go into too many details but things will look up, at one point and the darn sun will shine. For a while, at least.

Time passes, years, the characters grow; they evolve. At least Finger does. He manages to beat his demons and the ghosts of his past. I loved him. I wanted to pull him into my bosom and never let go. But Lenore... I'll just keep it short here, say that I don't like her and I have my reasons for it. I'm not going to elaborate on them, they are my own.

We get to the present, reading about things we've encountered in the previous books, except this time, it's from a different set of eyes. The ending is both cute and full of feels.

This is not a romance. It's a story, Finger's story, about finding himself, about pushing back at everything and everyone that hurt him; at making it to the top. I'd say it's more about survival, but it also has a love story in it.

My rating is 3.5 for two reasons: Lenore and because I felt the story dragged a little bit *because* of her. But this is my opinion and don't let it sway you. People and tastes, as they say.

About the Author
Cat Porter was born and raised in New York City, but also spent a few years in Europe, Texas and the suburbs along the way. As an introverted, only child, she had very big, but very secret dreams for herself. She graduated from Vassar College, was a struggling actress, an art gallery girl, special events planner, freelance writer, and had all sorts of other crazy jobs all hours of the day and night to help make those dreams come true. She has two children's books traditionally published under her maiden name. She now lives in Greece with her husband and three children, and freaks out regularly and still daydreams way too much. She is addicted to old movies, the History Channel, her iPad, her husband's homemade red wine, really dark chocolate, and her Nespresso coffee machine. Writing keeps her somewhat sane, extremely happy, and a productive member of society. If you enjoy character driven epic tales, her books are for you.
