Synopsis

Positive. With two little lines on a pregnancy test, everything in Lizzy Rollins' ordinary life is about to change forever. And all because of one big mistake in Vegas with Ben Nicholson, the irresistibly sexy bass player for Stage Dive. So what if Ben's the only man she's ever met who can make her feel completely safe, cherished, and out of control with desire at the same time? Lizzy knows the gorgeous rock star isn't looking for anything more permanent than a good time, no matter how much she wishes differently.

Ben knows Lizzy is off limits. Completely and utterly. She's his best friend's little sister now, and no matter how hot the chemistry is between them, no matter how sweet and sexy she is, he's not going to go there. But when Ben is forced to keep the one girl he's always had a weakness for out of trouble in Sin City, he quickly learns that what happens in Vegas, doesn't always stay there. Now he and Lizzie are connected in the deepest way possible...but will it lead to a connection of the heart?

Excerpt

His laughter, it didn’t really sound the smallest bit amused. “Christ. You’re done here.”
“Ah, no. I’m actually not. Now see, this is where we have a problem.” I folded my arms. Then unfolded them because like fuck I’d look defensive. He was the one in the wrong, not me. “You’re not prepared to take me, or my feelings, seriously. What you want is to hide away in Mr. Too Cool for Commitment land and just play with my affections when it suits you. Okay, I’ve accepted that. But none of that means it’s okay for you to come in here and act like you’re the boss of me. None of it.”
“That so?” he asked, leaning down so that we were almost nose to nose.
“That’s so, baby.” I play-punched him in the shoulder, which it should be noted, I barely came up to. Okay, so maybe the alcohol on a mostly empty stomach had made me slightly/lots braver/sillier. “So why don’t you take your little caveman jealous tantrum bullshit somewhere else. See, I do this funny thing I like to refer to as whatever the fuck I want. Understand?”
He just stared.
“And as pretty as you are with your beard and your muscles, you are too damn tricky and . . . complicated and shit for me.”
“I am?”
“Yes, you are. Are you finally seeing my point here?”
“You bet.”
“Excellent. So take your hotness elsewhere, kind sir. I want no part of it!” Huh. I had so told him. Drunken bravado was the best.

I've been anxiously waiting for this book. I was so curious about the mysterious Ben, how he is because he's always been sort of in the background. David is the poet, Jimmy the broody one, while Mal is the funny one. They're all so different. Can't say I was a fan of Ben's in Lick - we all know what he did.

But after the blurb was revealed, and the series went on... Yup, I wanted to read it as soon as possible. I also thought it wouldn't be as good as Lead. I mean who could ever dethrone Jimmy Ferris?

I was wrong. And I couldn't be happier.

I really really loved Lizzy. She's awesome. She's levelheaded and not a whiny person. She just tries to cope with what has unexpectedly landed on her doorstep, all without the help of others. Yes, they are by her side - I was kinda disappointed by Anne's reaction and Mal was a teensy bit exaggerating when he wasn't being funny - but still, it wasn't the same because Benny boy was being difficult. Oh boy, was he!

So yes, while he may have dethroned Jimmy - I still love you, Jimmy - it was hard not to be pissed at him but I understood him, in a way. And as I've said, Lizzy's a trouper and goes on, no matter what.

"I hadn't had many definites in my life. But him, us, whatever this was, it was one. It had to be."

Of course that it's all HEA but still, the road isn't that easy. And that ending! God, I was a puddle of mush! And really, throwing in the hero of the series that is coming next... That glimpse we got into it makes me want to really read the book. Ms. Kylie Scott seems to know the way to my heart with the characters and stories she writes.

"One of those big hands ran over his short hair and I swear my sex wept in gratitude at the sight. I was out of control. If he fondled his beard I might faint."

I was right there, with Lizzy through everything. The many, many feels!

5 + stars for the best ending - though I hope we come across them in the series that will come later - and I highly recommend the entire series. The laughs, the tears, the joys and, let us not forget, the hot scenes.

Deep (Stage Dive, #4)

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This series has been 5 stars across the board for me. If you liked the others, rest assured Deep is more of the same great writing. I got so into the story. I laughed and cried along with the characters. It's not just about the main couple. All my favorite people fulfilled their parts.
Each of the guys plays a role in the band. Not just an instrument, but a piece of the puzzle that makes them work. Dave's the sensitive poet, Mal's the loudmouth clown, and Jimmy's the brooding bastard. But Ben, he just goes on with the work, doing his thing.

Oh how I heart these men, and that is a perfect description of them. It's easy to fall for book boyfriends. In this series, you fall just as hard for the ladies. The whole group even side characters makes for a remarkable family atmosphere. I just want to be a part of it so badly.

Deep is about the base player Ben finding his love connection. Ben is super tall and big with a beard. He's the last single Stage Dive member. Each man had different issues along the way in the area of romance. Ben's problem is that he's happy where he is in life. He's not in the business to be flashy. Being rich and famous aren't his goals. He's not a bad guy. He's not super wild. He's just living his dream, giving his all to music. Music is first in his life so he never plans to get serious with a woman.

Liz is a goner the moment she sees Ben. He just 'does it' for her. She can't get him out of her head so she pursues him.

Liz does get her piece of Ben with added complications, but will it is a good thing or a bad thing?

I recommend this book to everyone, and it's a definite must to any Stage Dive fan.
