That ghost of a smile spread into a full smirk. "I think I'll keep staring at your breasts like a pig."
"Well, that's lovely."
"They sure are," he replied."
Chandler Gamble is the oldest of the Gamble brothers. He was always the one to take care of Chase and Chad, his younger brothers. They had a rough childhood, crappy life but he was their rock and, thanks to the Danielses, they found a home and family. So, it's really quite normal for him to not only be head of his own security company, CCG Security but also be a wild guy, with a reputation that truly does precede him. All the rumors about him? So. True.
Alana Gore is a take-no-crap, ballsy woman who's not afraid of anyone or anything. At least, that's what she shows to everyone around her. With no family, pretty much all alone, she decides to stay in D.C. after saving Chad's career. New beginnings and all that. Plus, she hopes to get away from someone who keeps sending her notes. Notes and letters that scare her.
So, she does what any sane person would do: goes to Chandler for help. Let me mention the fact that they hadn't hit off right from the beginning, what with Alana beating down his door to get to Chad and he treating her so courteously, "Who the fuck are you?".
But I love Alana and she gives as good as she gets. She's afraid but not only because of her stalker but because committing to a man could turn her into her mother.
"You never have to give away a piece of you to me," he said. "But you can have as many pieces of me as you want. You can have all of me, for forever." <--- yes, I love him.
Their back-and-forth and the dynamic between Chandler and Alana made me snort, chuckle and laugh out loud.
"First off, fuck you."
His blue eyes gleamed with mischief. "I like where this is heading."
Loved it. Loved this out of all three and this one's for sure a fave of mine from J Lynn/Jennifer Armentrout. Love her style, her characters and dialogues. 5 stars.
"I love you."
"That's my girl." <--- he made me melt.
"You're mine now," he murmured against the flushed skin of her back. "Completely mine." <--- swoon
And he was hers.
And I'm going to end this review and make you wonder about what this may mean.
"We're going to hell for this."
"But what a fun way to go, right?"
