~Blog Tour & Give-A-Way~ In The Lyrics by Nacole Stayton

Title: In the Lyrics
Author: Nacole Stayton
Publication Date: February 7, 2014

Summary: Hensley Bradley is the definition of the girl-next-door. She’s kindhearted, beautiful, and talented. Bored with her mundane life, thoughts of fleeing her small town begin to consume her. With aspiring dreams to use her voice as a one-way ticket, she suddenly discovers that music might not be her only passion.

After a fallout back home, Colby Grant decides to leave his family’s farm, determined to show his father he’s more than just a wanna-be country singer. With his All-American good looks, it doesn’t take long for girls in his new town to focus their eyes on him. But things aren’t what they appear from the outside, and it isn’t long until Colby feels he doesn't fit into the perfect world that so quickly embraced him.

A chance encounter places Hensley in Colby’s path, but it isn’t her natural beauty that first captures his attention – it’s her voice.

When love and music mix, will the combination blossom into a beautiful melody or wither into a heart-wrenching tune?

~My Review~

Stop the clock. I am in love with ITL. Why you ask? I'll tell ya why. It's because of a fiesty young gal name Hensley and a hunk of cowboy name Colby.

Colby leaves his home back in Texas and decides to move to Nashville to make something of himself but it's not to prove to his dad who thinks...."You think singing at these podunk bars is going to pay your rent? You better take a real good look around this farm. This is where you belong. Working like a real man should, providing for his family, not on some rickety-ass stage trying to make a buck, never knowing where you're going to lay your head at night."  No. He moves away to fullfil his promise to his little brother Levi. Colby feels bad for leaving his mom behind with his drunk piece of shit of a father but this is something that he needs to do. So he packs his bags, hops into his truck and hits the road after a physical fist fight with his old man.

Hensley's mom has always told her from a very young age that falling in love will hold her back from her dream of being a big time country star. She drills into Hensely to not make the same mistakes that she did. So, Hensley pushes people away except her best friend Dusty who has the same dream as she does, with her rudeness and bitchy attitude. That is until one day she meets Colby.

Now don't get me wrong, Hensley lets loose her rudeness to Colby but it doesn't take long for her to give in and decide to finally live. Life is to short to live a lonely life.

They have their ups and downs and then a serious down fall happens right when you think that they can work with the distance between them and it left my heart aching for them.  I wanted to shout and scream at that person to go after the other half of their heart but I wasn't alone so I had to mentally shout it. But worry not, all ends well. Very and happily well.

FYI: Colby just melted my heart from the very beginning and I rolled my eyes right along with Hensley at the corny stuff that he would say to her.

My favorite lines:
Momma always said if a woman throws herself at you, she isn't wife material.~Colby

My aspiring career is why I cam here, but she just might be the reason why I stay~Colby *SWOONS!*

I don't know why I am so hesitant to be around Colby, but for some reason he makes me feel strange. Like a good strange, which is a bad sign. I may hide behind my sharp tongue and hard exterior, but inside I'm still a woman. A woman whose heart started pounding profusely against her chest the first time I laid eyes on him.~Hensley

"Wow, this is a big bedroom."
"Yeah I know. If you wanna trade, we can, but your rent will go up," Dusty teases.
"Does she come with the room?" My eyes widen as he and Dusty burst out in laughter.~Colby, Dusty & Hensley
"Don't shut it. I want you to see how beautiful your smile is. That is when it actually graces us with it's presence. I want you to see what the world sees. What I see.~Colby *Again with the SWOONING*

God must have spent a little more time on him, or they train their boys right in Texas~Hensley

"Yeah, you are an ass sometimes, and I am getting used to it. Either shut that door and join me, or carry on, Sunshine. I'm freeing."
"You're nuts! I am not joining you."
Laughing, she pushes off the wall and exits the room, leaving the door open on purpose."~Shower scene at the apatment

They're not home? Could we be any luckier? God must want me to get laid.~Colby
