About the Author
Review
Aw! I love a good YA and
it's been a while since I read one. And I'm so happy I came across this
one! This story is told in dual POVs: Skylar and Alexandra. First part is
all about Skylar and Kane. The second part is with Alexandra and
Tristan, while in the third part, these characters have a
meet-and-greet.
The rich guy and the Goth girl
These
two. I swear, they are perfect together! Skylar is sarcastic and funny
and she's not afraid to speak her mind. She's blunt and honest to a
fault. Kane finds this out when she expresses her feelings regarding his
girlfriend.
Skylar's friends are crazy but supportive of her and her ways - even though Jessie constantly questions why she's friends with them. Besides her being funny and sarcastic and blunt, she's also stubborn and she judges Kane by his life style; his friends and even his family. It all starts with a simple History assignment and them becoming History partners for the story to unfurl. Kane is really nothing like the typical rich kid, thank God! He's sweet and polite and of course that he's hot, to boot. Oh and whatever he wants? He takes. Much to Sky's horror, so to say.

The geek girl and the bad boy
As
sarcastic and crazy as Skylar is, Alex is the total opposite. She's way
too polite for her own good and she never talks back to anyone, she
never stands up for herself. Namely, when she's being bullied by Tristan
and his friends. But all that starts to change when she's asked to
tutor Tristan in Maths. It's weird at the beginning but Tristan
surprised me in a pleasant way. I admit, I didn't know what to think of
him. He was a bad boy, a player and a bully. But I really wanted to know
what his redeeming qualities were so I gave him a chance. Didn't regret
it.
But it's a little bit more complicated because, while little Alex starts to develop feelings for him, so does her best friend. And Alex is not egotistical and she always puts others above herself.

The
third part is where they meet and Sky and Alex become closer and
closer. The former tries her best to push Kane away, while the latter
wants Tristan close but he's pretty much a no-show.
But it all works out fine and it's a big HEA at the end of it. This story may be shorter but it's sweet and funny and it does have certain morals one can learn from, by the end of it. I loved how these different people, characters constructed pretty well, got together and simply clicked. It didn't matter that one was poor, while the other was rich; or that one was quiet, while the other was wild. They found a common ground and decided to stay on it.
I think you already figured out that I loved this book very much, hence why believe it deserves five stars. I only hope to read more great stories from this author. She's definitely one I'll follow closely.
