Joseph Fallen by M.S. Willis

This book is for all my Sisters of Dark who enjoy a good dark read. Joseph Fallen is the story oh how Joseph Carmicheal came to be. If you have read Madeliene Abducted then you already know a little bit about Joseph. If you have not read it I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you do. In order to fully understand the story.  Also check out Toni Hanks review of Madeline abducted...

Book Description:
There is a fine line between genius and madness…
Between love and hate,
Between right and wrong.

Joseph had created The Estate for her…
His wife,
The woman he chose to bear his child.
She was beauty unsurpassed;
And her song was unlike anything he’d ever known.

However, their love was a story that would not find a happy ending.

In this prequel novel to the Estate series, follow Joseph Carmichael as he creates a world unlike any other. Because, in order to comprehend The Estate, you must understand Joseph; but, in order to understand Joseph, you must discover how a man falls from light into the pitch black depths of ultimate darkness.

I read Madeliene Abducted and enjoyed it a lot. After reading it I wanted to know more about his father Joseph his character was so intriguing to me. Well I asked and I received nothing and I do mean nothing prepared me for what I got. Joseph Fallen is the prequel to Madeliene Abducted and boy did it deliver.
Joseph Carmicheal is unlike any character I have read recently. He is one crazy and deranged bastard.  Joseph intially was  charismatic, attentive and loving however as he rose in the ranks of business he became more and more ruthless and lost his sense of morality. Greed took over and ruled his life.

One thing that Joseph loved the most was his wife Arianna , she was the driving force for his pursuits in business and amassing great power and wealth.
Arianna a woman of humble beginnings, beautiful and musically gifted although she never played for     entertainment. Her life was simple until Joseph advanced further and then his demands became more and more.  Arianna loved Joseph but I believe she was naive in matters concerning Joseph until she was no longer able to ignore it. It became very clear to her but by then it was to late.  Here is a excerpt  as a example:

He stood motionless around her, the heat of his body, his scent, bathing her as she waited – the broken promise and the reminder of who her husband had been was dangled before her in that moment, a dream she would never capture again.  He looked like Joseph, smelled like him, carried the same unspoken power and assurance – but he was no longer the man she’d believe him to be.
His jaw ticked, and when his sculpted lips finally opened, his voice brushed against her, seductive as silk, while, at the same time, sharp as the most lethal of blades.
The words spoken were so slow, so frightfully controlled, that there was no doubt they were the undeniable truth.  “When I married you, and on our wedding night, I promised you two things, Arianna – that you were mine and that I would do whatever was necessary to give you everything you could ever want.”  His eyes closed as he winced, his face appearing to battle against pain of the thoughts pounding against his skull.  “I have not broken those promises, so do not break yours. Do not threaten to leave me again.  There is no where on this Earth that you could run, that I would not hunt you down, find you, and drag you back here, chained if need be, to where you belong.”
His eyes opened.
“You are mine and I will not allow you to leave.  While I’m gone, I will leave Connor to watch over you.  He is loyal to me and will prevent any escape you attempt if you are foolish enough to try.  There is no escape from me, Arianna. You WILL accept what I have done.”
SHIT JUST GOT REAL!!!!!!!!

I LOVED IT!!!!!!
For all that Joseph did I kept trying to find redeemable qualities for him but I honestly couldn't. I felt
a number of emotions happiness, anger, hope, defeat, rage. Yet I still couldn't put it down I was drawn to it even when I had to take a moment to breathe through a scene. It is worth it..
Joseph Fallen left me needing a hug. It was filled with everything I love in a dark read.  A  love story, Great flow, angst, perspectives from both sides, and a craving for more. I would love to give you more but I cannot without giving away more of the story and that would defeat the purpose of you reading it for yourself.  Be warned this is not for everyone but if you are open minded and love DARK STORIES this is your book.
